i am going to open a big can of worms. What would be your "best urban SBR optics"? I need optics on my 10.5 LMT. It will be my SHTF rifle. i live n a urban environment but my plan would be to get the hell out of dodge if i can. So i figure shots might open up to 100 or 200 yards. Most shots being 25-150 lets say. I am considering a T1 or maybe a ACOG. T1 is very light and durable Variables start to add weight and price. But let me know what you think. For conversation point keep cost under 2000. PS i have a flip up front KAC on it now.

T1 for sure.

Nice build by the way. I'm a big TRIM fan.

IMO, EOTech EXPS and 3x magnifier combo. You can remove the magnifier and go light, or put it on to switch between 1x and 3x.

Trijicon tr24 or vortex 1-4 if you are going to stretch out to 200 yards. Aimpoints for durability and weight savings

T1 for the win, or mark 6 or a good 1-4 should fit the bill.

Any of the microdot offerings are fine for that.  If your plan is to bug out, keeping it light and simple and even concealable when passing through human traffic is the way to go.  Use a backpack instead of anything that denotes "gun storage case" etc.  Single point sling and overcoat if not in a backpack.  Scum yourself up and look desparate and hungry like everyone else and blend in with those fleeing the city (death traps).  I have the same setup..small weapon light and microdot optic.  I can hit the 300 and 200 yard iron plates standing unsupported with my red dot more than half the time on 300yds, 80% of the time at 200.  20 round mag loaded in it as well...with your 30's easy to get to.  Oh, and lose the break and get a nice flash suppressor on there lest your fireballs blind you or give you away.

[#12]
I think that brake is a suppressor mount.  Still, I would prefer a flash hider mount than a brake mount, if possible.

As for the optic, I like Eotechs, as I can make hits at 200 yds easily with the 1MOA dot, and make FAST hits up close.  Also, I have never 'lost' the reticle, as I have with a micro RDS.

Here's mine:

And I've got a .22 kit for it.

I use an Aimpoint COMP M4s on my MK18. It will work for everything I need and I have it zeroed for 300 meters.

Just out of curiosity OP, what length is the Wilson combat trim rail? 9.3?

Otherwise, any other 1-6x you can afford.

No reason to reduce your FOV with a micro.

If you have a 2k budget, the three optics I would consider are:

T1 $650
Elian DR 1-4 $2k
Vortex razor 1-6 $1500

I have a T1 (2 MOA) on my 10.5" and I plan on a TA33 for my 14.5". For me, it comes down to whether or not you want magnification. They're both extremely light and virtually bombproof.

If you want an optic with more forgiving head positioning, the Aimpoint PRO might be a good option to consider vs. the T1.

Head positioning is very unforgiving with a T1 compared to larger sights. I see that as the one plus for the PRO / etc. vs. the T1.

What's the best flavor of ice cream?

Too many variables and personal preferences, really. I used to be an Aimpoint guy. Now I'm an Eotech guy.

If I hit the lottery maybe I'll be an Elcan guy.

Weight, astigmatism, variable glass, battery, distance... Try a bunch out and you make the call. Sell it on the EE if it doesn't work out. Move on.

$2000????
Hell for $2000 I can buy a NIB Colt 6933, an Aimpoint Pro, a suppressor and a dozen Lancers.

And still have cash left over.

My vote is for an EoTech (I have an EXPS 3-0 on my rifle), an Aimpoint PRO, or a 1-6x variable of some sort.

Nice looking rifle by the way.

Thanks guys. I didnt consider field]'4'/. of vision being small on the T1. I have a Pro in a Larue that i run on my Colt. I should give it a try on this one. Also a SMALL light is in the future as well. I have the brake on it to try to protect from baffle erosion on my SDN6. I dont know if it really helps, but it says so on the internet. And as you know, everything on the internet is true.

I just put this one together today. No lights, optics or even suppressor fr this one. Kind of the opposite of the LMT. Picture just because i feel like derailing my own thread a little.

True, but a strong shooter gets by fine without even in armor or from odd positions.

I don't mind the unforgiving head position, I love my T1. Just pointing out the facts, more forgiving is naturally an advantage. It just comes with a size and weight penalty.

I spend my time at the range, so I prefer the T1. If I spent my time with bullets whizzing past my head, I think I would prefer the PRO.

It's true, my gripe with eotech is battery life and the awkward movement I need to make to turn it off since it requires two fingers on the back side. I've also had ond have the battery corrode in the inside and mess up the terminals. I own two eotechs and 3 aimpoints. Never an issue with the aim points. Battery life is excellent. Manipulating the switch is easy enough. And for the most part you never even have to tun it off, if you replace the batteries yearly like I do.

I had one of these for a while. It's a well made optic with great glass. I put a cat tail on it which made it even better.  Head position/eye relief in 1 power was rather forgiving IMO.  However, ultimately I came to hate the triangle reticle and ended up selling it. I might try another one one day now that they offer it with a more traditional crosshair.

I have an Eotech on my 5.56 SBR.  This is because 5.56 sucks out of a 10" barrel past 100 yds.

However, for my 7.62x39 SBR (think 300 AAC Blackout supersonic), I have opted for a Vortex Viper 1-4x.  7.62x39 retains enough energy to put a coyote down at 150-200 yards out of a 10" barrel, so I went with a scope to help me ID and hit one at that distance.
