*Note this is a work in progress, I am attempting to make a new thread with the pertent info and remaining pics from the MK18 thread.

The CQB-R is a short barrel upper for the M4 weapon system.

Later the Upper on an M4A1 or rebuilt M16 lower is designated by the US Navy at the MK18Mod0

The CQB-R / MK18 Mod O is generally(but not always)

10/10.3/10.5 inch barrel
KAC RIS or RAS
KAC NT4 Suppressor Mount
LMT Rear Sight or KAC 300m Flip Up Rear Sight
LMT Sopmod stock
CQD Rear sling mount
CQD forward sling mount

Optics are often an Aimpoint M2 or ACOG.

Including some of the LMT 10.5 vs Colt 10.3 argument.

Here is one I built using an LMT 10.5" upper. Larue 7.0 FF, M2 aimpoint, Larue mount, RRA lower, LMT LPK.

Only changes since this pic is I installed a Magpul MOE buttstock.

Well guys, I am getting ready to convert this into a Mk18 Mod 0 clone. It is a DPMS Panther Carbine with a 11.5" HBAR.

I have ordered a LMT 10.5" upper with an F/A BCG and CH. I also have a KAC M4 RIS , KAC VFG, and a Surefire 9V light (w/ A.R.M.S. throw lever mount) on the way. The LMT upper will sit on the DPMS lower and the EOTech 512A65 will be replaced with an Aimpoint M2 w/ LaRue mount. The rear sight will be the LMT Detachable Tactical model. The VLTOR Modstock will be replaced by the LMT SOPMOD stock that is on order. Hopefully, by the end of January, everything will be here.

ETA: Build is LMT Lower w/ SOPMOD Stock and Chip McCormick 2 stage trigger, LMT Upper with 10.5" bbl. KAC rails, Aimpoint M2 on ARMS mount, Surefire M951.

We're snowed in - took some more current pictures.

I heard from Mary Jo at LMT today in regard to my upper order. Looks like it will be 16-20 weeks before the 10.5" upper gets here. Oh well. I have waited this long, what is another few months. Looks like it will be April or May when it gets built.

He had 4 of them... Don't know if he still does... I know I watched him pull 2 RIS II's (M4's not MK18's) out of the box yesterday... I'd guess he has still has MK18's...

That lightweight barrel probable handles better then a 10.5 HBAR. I love my new M4 profile 10.5.

Yeah, she's a shooter alright, but SBRs are just plain sex; one's enough for me though. Nice mayhem-making tools ya got there, Postal.

Here is my clone. CMMG 10.3 with Bushmaster SBR lower. I'll get the Sopmod in the future, but for now the Vltor does the trick.

Im not gonna lie, I am not a SBR kinda guy. But these threads are winning me over each time. Perhaps one day I shall delve into the world of mk18's or whichever the 10.x barrel one is. Me likey.

Mk18 inspired

I've had KAC rails, LMT BUIS and still have a SOPMOD stock but I've found these items work best for me so they're what I use.

And a different variation to go along with the theme.

The only 'clones' I really like are my A4 and an XM177E2 I'll eventually get around to.

If you see a bunch of squids with Magpul M93 stocks on them, they might be EOD. I've seen a bunch of those guys with them during training. Everyone they had came with the stock, aimpoints and a rail. I can't remember the brand of rail.

Also, some non SpecWar VBSS teams got them. Standard stocks and no rails or optics on the ones I saw.

I was talking about the DD RISII that you see on the Mod1s. I bought mine at Rainier. It's very frickin nice!

mkgunz- the rail you see on EOD rifles is the Vltor CASV-EL. They tend to also have a mag funnel on the magwell and a grippod.

I got together with a couple friends and decided to hit my MK18 clone with the rattle cans! I have an older KAC silencer that was painted when I got it. Since I usually have that can on this gun, I have had the itch to just paint the whole thing. A week or so ago we did it. A friend of mine painted his M4 at the same time.

First coat of Khaki
