That bottom one looks like a pretty similar setup to mine

It's a little heavy compared to all the new lightweight stuff but the balance is great and it feels fantastic in the hands.  My favorite rifle by far!

Great looking rifle you got there! Mine was a 14.5 BCM M4 SOCOM barrel that was cut down by ADCO to 10.3 with a 0.070 gas port. The SOCOM profile barrel makes it a bit heavier than others, but it is the smoothest running AR in my safe. Love it.

Did you go with the 5.56 or 7.62 end cap?

5.56. I dont run any 30 cal through it, so I decided to go this route. I still have the .30 brake end cap it came with though.

Cool. I've got an omega in jail. Bought both end caps because I'm anal but only plan to run 5.56 through it.

finally posting pics of the DPMS Sex Panther, 80% of the time, mags drop free 100% of the time.

I built the upper with a DPMS Kitty Kat barrel back when AR pistols were a new thing.  Gun runs great, barrel is chromed, only negative is the 1/9 twist.  I plan to take it apart soon so I can attach an AAC hider and SDN-6.

Nice job Paul, took me some time to find this post since Jeff showed me your pictures, I don't usually come here to often, this site was costing me too much money, had to cut myself off. Anyway, get your butt up here to GJ so we can break that puppy in, I have 1 I just put a free float hand guard on and need to test fire. I gave up building AK's,  kits are to expensive, I'm into assembling AR's now.

Very nice!

What length barrel do you have & who makes the handguards & muzzle device? Piston or gas impingement?

Thanks

Thanks! Jeff told me about that build. Sounds like a great rifle! Shooting sounds like a bunch of fun with you and Jeff. I remember taking your AKs out and having a blast

dumb question, whats the advantage of a SBR when you put a suppressor on it?  Isn't it back to close to a 16" gun in length?  Quieter than a standard 16 M4?

Absolutely it is.
Blast and flash suppression. The ability to go 6" shorter at a moments notice.

We pay $200 and wait 8 months so we can make our rifles shorter, then we pay $200 and wait 8 months so we can make our rifles longer. Because it's cool.

8" barrel, titanium suppressor, .300blk vs 16" 5.56.  Similar size and weight.
One makes your ears bleed, the other can be .22 quiet with subs or at least not make you go deaf shooting supersonics.
And I got my SBR e-form 1 back in 3 months, parallel to my suppressor e-form 4 in 4 months.  This of course was during that short magical time where you could E-file and waits were "short"...

It is SOOOO much quieter than a standard M4.  No comparison.  I use the same suppressor on a 18" 308 as well.

My Daniel Defense complete factory 10.3" SBR. I changed out the FSB for a low pro gas block and installed a DD OmegaX 9.0 quadrail. I also changed out the Magpul SL-K stock for a LMT SOPMOD stock.

Shot about 30 rounds through it yesterday.  Was slaying water bottles at 15 yards.  Need to put it on paper to see if the sight needs any adjustment with the barrel change.  I'd expect some minor adjustment, but was surprised to hit my target on the first shot without doing any adjusting.  I like that I can now shoot unsuppressed.  I used to really like the can under the hand guard look, but in practice, I found it to be a hassle.

Excellent looking gun & it's giving me ideas. Who makes the handguard?

Yup, I built that last year as an elk rifle (.308). I had a Stag for a few years and sold it to fund an anniversary present
