Preferred method of cutting front cocking serrations on the 1911 slide; end mill or slitting saw? The flat bottom serrations will be .0625" wide and .0250" deep to match the existing rear serrations on an old Colt Gold Cup slide.

I have cut .125” wide STI style serrations with an end mill several times, but that narrow Colt serration has me rethinking the procedure.

Slitting.

A flat bottom that small is not very strong.

An even better setup would probably be a large one with multiple slitting saws and spacers on a common shaft.

Maybe enough to cut the full width at the same time under flood coolant.
