I'm not sure if this is where this needs to be or not. If not, mods feel free to move it.

I recently inherited a savage model 24s-a in 22mag over 20 gauge. It needs some parts. I am on the hunt for a locking bolt and the locking bolt spring. I believe the locking bolt part number is 940b-134. I have tried numrich, outback, and propperts and no one has one. If any of you gunsmiths anywhere has one or even has a parts gun I am in need. I didn't know if maybe someone had a junk gun laying in a corner somewhere or something like that. Any help would be great.

IM is probably the best way to reach me if there are any questions.

The Savage 24 is little more than a Savage 94 with a second barrel and selector.
Most of the parts are exactly the same.
Whenever a change was made to the 94, the 24 changed as well.
The Savage 940 is one of these variants.
The aluminum framed, side lever 24s will use parts from the 940 series.
It may help to know this in your search.

It is possible, but I have no personal knowledge of this, that the lock for the 940/24s is the same as the part for the 94/24 without the stamped steel extension.
I do know that most the small parts in the barrel/ forearm are interchangeable between the two.

There are two resources I can mention that may help:
Lee's Gun Parts in Irving, Texas:
http://leesgunparts.com/

And the Savage 24 forum:

My gunsmith doesn't think they interchange. I will call Lee's Tuesday. I was going to join the savage forum and see if anyone there had one. There are a couple machinists locally and if I could get my hands on one I would have one made.
