The barrel vise grabs the barrel as close to the action as possible. Measure the diameter of the barrel at that location.
I will have to find some photos or dimensions to determine whether the barrel starts to taper close to the receiver. Too much taper may mean a tapered bushing is needed. You could send an email to Brownell's with your question, they will respond quickly. |

It has a good taper, don't recall how much. I made a bushing on a lathe, but the barrel still would not budge with a 2' wrench, a cheater, and a hammer to the wrench.
I cut a relief groove just ahead of the receiver, and I was able to unscrew the receiver by hand after that. |
