Anyone have any experience with laser engravers? I'd like to look into purchasing one that would engrave AR-15 style lower receivers as well as polymer items (PMAGS/ Stocks etc.)

Welcome any input that anyone can offer. I'm not new to firearms, but am new to engraving and at least I know that I don't know anything.

I know you need a really expensive one to be able to engrave to ATF depth requirements for marking. If you just want to put pretty stuff on them, a less expensive CO2 laser will be fine.

you will have a TON of money into a laser engraver powerfull enough to engrave to ATF standards. You will be much better off getting a dahlgren, hermes or gravograph rotary engraver

I make them for a living. You're looking at around 40k-50k for a starter set up. Or you could get a dot peen marker for around 15k. We sold lots of dot peens and steel stamps to colt in the 70s. Still have some old lowers laying around we made sample marks on. We still sell them to numerous firearm manufacturers
