Can some PLEASE do me a favor and look at the carbine version of the Evo? I'd REALLY like to see how the handguard attaches to the upper!

The standard Evo uses the barrel nut at the muzzle, but with carbine version appearing to accept a 1.375" silencer, I'm not sure how this attaches now as the same method of a nut at 7" barrel length would require a very special tool that went deep into the handguard to secure.

I'd also like to know if the tan version they have coming is injection-molded tan, or it's the same black evo but cerakoted.

I'd just like to see some pics of it. FDE/tan would be preferred.

I like it but I have 9mm carbines coming out of my ears, I think I'll ride this SBR kick I'm on for awhile.

Once we know the rail diameter, I'd like to cut the barrel and throw a suppressor inside of it.

Now you're speaking my language.

Was going to do it on an MPX but the Evo apparently suppresses way better. And that whole "not $1500" thing.

Hanguard mounts the exact same way as the 8" model, so it is a bit tricky to instsll/remove the extended handguard but it can be done.

As to a 45, it looks to me like it would be new bolt, new barrel, new ejector, and that's all. Ala HK UMP.

The barrel swap requires more work than the HK, but it's just tedious changing out the receiver screws is all.

If CZ wanted to, they could sell a 45 kit with fixture/trunnion, barrel, bolt, and trigger housing combine with the ejector if needed. They COULD anyhow...

No way would that be worth it IMO unless you wanted to swap to .45 and leave it.

At that point I think you're better off just buying a new gun.

Agreed, I'd buy a new one to have a .45.

I mean, the way you SHOULD be looking at it, is, yes, get a new gun in 45, then swap your SBR'ed receiver half over, good to go.  That would be five screws or so.

Keep in mind, excessive recoil was one of the reasons the HK UMP never caught on.  The Scorp follows a similar design philosophy.

Except many of us have had a Scorpion for over a year and the recoil is not excessive. The UMP had many other problems besides excessive recoil.

I hope they get out sooner rather than later, and don't cost a ton. I want a 9mm carbine, something I can use with my can (Mystic X). The handguard being large enough to fit a can under is a very nice feature... I'll definitely SBR whatever I get.

Yes, as I understand it: New thread pitch (1/2x28) and available in FDE/Tan. Sounds like projected availability is July as of now.
