Not a fan of the construction (Philips head screws to hold the magwell together? ), but I'm sure some people here will like this.

If they come in at the suggested $550 range I'll have a few!

Do want.

Now go make an STG44 in 9mm (or 40s&w, 10mm)

They use a different action and operating system so they're not "real" MP40s. I can't get excited about a fake MP40.

I thought I read in the earlier thread on this that it was to be 5k and promised not to be junk like the one before.

I like $550 much better.

Worth a risk at that price.

The ATI/GSG .22lr MP40s have been out for a while, I've seen them at my local gun shows for $500 with the wooden crate. They look good but are they actually making a 9mm version as well? trying to hit the article linked above but can't pull it up. I thought a 9mm version was requested several times in the industry forum and ATI stated they cannot import a version larger than .22lr. Unless they're making these stateside (ATI moved to my home state of S.C.) I don't see how they're doing this. I hope it's true, wanted the .22lr version but if a 9mm MP40 clone is coming that's the horse to bet on. Maybe it's good I waited on buying the .22lr Mp40 but I think it was like two years from announcement to arrival on the .22lr version.

I remember a thread about this last week I think, let me see if I can find it.

I'm not searching something correctly, can't find the thread.

If it really does hit with a $550 MSRP, maybe $450 street price. Plus a stock and stamp you still have a cheap little 9mm carbine that would be a ton of fun. Maybe not the most practical, but I sure want one.

I just filed the Form 1 to SBR my GSG-40 .22
I wish I had known this was coming as it will ooze awesome sauce for those of us who can't own an original FA MP40.
I'll be buying one in 9mm if it is more than vaporware.
Oh, and I will SBR it.
Let's hope it comes out before the BATFE make all there proposed changes.
