I'm amazed to have not seen a thread here yet.  Talk is it'll be released later this year.  Still haven't heard anything on what magazines it uses.  Prices is looking like $350

Looks cool. 9mm is a good choice for ammo...affordable and obtainable. I just hope they make it better than the .22 version.

Must have had a few set backs?

But I would love to see it with a 30 round mag!

I'm interested.

One with a folding stock and 30 round mag would be great as well.

I dunno.

Citadel 22 carbines are pretty cheesy.

Gonna have to see one in person.

yep, you can barely give those away now that everyone knows how awful they are...   based on the $349 price for a 9mm, I wouldn't have high hopes.

I gotta admit, even though I've not had much interest in getting the .22lr version, I'd be tempted to try one in 9mm. I know their rep isn't great but for those of us who've wanted an M1 carbine but can't afford one, or the ammo, this might be fun to try. My biggest concern would be mag availability & cost.

I join those who just really want a 9mm M-1. The original M-1's are just far too expensive for a range toy. Many of the ones out there are so old and worn out you don't want to shoot them, they are collector items. Your own government, in their infinite wisdom will allow new ones (expensive) to be built here but will not allow originals made here to come home. (don't get me started on that insane, stupid, dumb ass liberal thinking process).   So, yes we WANT this rifle to work and be GTG. Sadly the .22 version was pretty crappy. I had wanted one of those until actually holding a production one and seeing how cheaply made it was.

I am old enough to remember the old Erma's from back in the day. They were cool looking too but also suffered from build quality issues. Same goes for the commercial M-1 carbines from back in the '60's and 70's  when they were the AR-15's of their day. As original GI parts ran out cheaper parts were used and now those old Universals and such are pretty much orphan junk. (just try to get a part for one).

So, wait and see on this 9mm M-1. Happily I have a Marlin Camp 9 that mimics the shape and size of this rifle and performs perfectly. No, not exactly the same look but close in proportions. Guess I will live with it until we see how this new thing works out. Who knows...maybe they will surprise us. But with that $350 price I have to wonder. Maybe a "real" new M-1 carbine at $700 is twice the rifle as these...maybe.

I will buy one if they are reliable.

This.  Most of me feeling nervous about the quality of a $350 carbine, but if it's GTG, that price can't be beat.

If it works, I'll get one. Always wanted a M1 Carbine and it's always been too expensive.

Though, this thread is making me want a well made M1 carbine chambered in 9mm or .45 acp that takes Uzi magazines.  Shouldn't take too much redesign to the mag well.

There's a pretty decent thread that's been going in GD for a while about this.

I'm looking forward to the release.

So apparently they use Beretta 92 mags, so feeding it will be no problem. I'm excited about this.

They're not going to be $350, not sure where that rumor started:

Well, that price sounds more realistic. And, if the thing was built decently it wouldn't be out of line. BUT, it certainly has to be better than that POS .22 M-1 toy they tried to push on people.

If they are well made I'm In, taking the 92fs mags sealed the deal since I already have a bunch for my storm.

Just looked it up...the Auto Ordnance M-1 Carbine, a real copy in the original caliber, is $623 with the walnut stock. Well, with a wood stock this thing is going to have to be price competitive. The Auto Ordnance is a real well made steel copy of the original. This thing will have to look good to match it or be priced well below it.

Interesting that they'd stick with plastic when the barrel band and other parts will be steel. Maybe it will come with a polymer bayonet.

I wonder if you can just swap it for a reproduction barrel band and lug.

I will be right behind you in line...but its got to be quality equal to the price. That .22 carbine was, well, less than we wanted.

Now that's interesting, that means cheap easy to find mags plus 30 round capability. A 92 mag hanging off an M1 clone probably won't win any beauty contests though. But a smarter move than a proprietary 9mm mag that looks like an M1 mag. If it works this could be a cheap alternative to a Camp 9 or PC9.

Its the vetting part I am interested in. Their past reputation with that .22 thing was not the best. Everyone around has that one "on sale" now. Seems they are not as hot as when they were first offered.
