I swung by Academy this morning because I had a $25 gift card, and picked up a Marlin 336 Compact since they were out of 20 oz. Yeti cups.  I'll post a picture later after getting off work.

While I do really like my Yeti cup to drink beer out of I only need one. On the other hand your new 336 will need some company. Figure on the following acquisitions in the next 24 months! 1895 in 45-70, a 39A or Henry 22, a 1894 in 357 or 44, and then either a used Winchester 94 in 30-30, a full size 336, one a Mossberg 464 Marincoat 16.25 barrel from Davidsons.

Once you have those in the safe you will then start to add stainless 336, an older 308/338 JM stamped rifle, or a guide gun version of the 45-70.

You have been affected!

Enjoy the new rifle. A Pachmeyer slip on recoil reducer will give you another inch of stock length for warm weather shooting when your not wearing heavy outerwear.

Strarted with a 1895 G in 45/70, then a Rossi 92 44Mag 20 inch in stainless. Now I need a 45 Colt to go with my Ruger NM Blackhawk...

Can someone tell me why they call it "Spike Horn" when I googled it online?

I imagine because it's a youth model.

I did. That's how this all started.  I got an 80s Marlin 30AS.  I wanted to use it as a truck gun, but fell so in love with it, I decided to get a Remington Marlin to abuse

Next thing you know you'll be looking at 100+ year old guns with lust in your heart.

The modern ones just won't do, oh no.

Welcome to the addiction.

Oh yes!  I started out with a little Henry H001 22lr for plinking in early 2009.  By early 2013 I'd added a Rossi 357mag rifle, a Rossi 357mag carbine, a Uberti 45 Colt 1873 Special Sporting Rifle, a Uberti 45 Colt 1866 Yellowboy carbine, Mossberg 464 30-30, Winchester Model 88 .308, and a Savage Model 99 EG 300 Savage.  Plus, because I handload for everything I shoot, I had to add 38spl, 357mag, 45 Colt, 30-30, and 300 Savage reloading equipment and components to my reloading setup.  Luckily, I already handloaded 7.62x51 so .308 was a there too.

357 lever gun that will reliably run .38's brings a bigger smile to my face than any MG I have ever shot.

Yes, it's addictive.  Took one lever to WI for deer hunting, came home with TWO (made the mistake of stopping at a hardware store that also sells guns).

That's on top of the 30 or so here already...
