I looked into the Marlin forum to get the dates but you have to be a member and I'm not looking to sign up on another forum. The serial number starts out with 23144xxx. Any ideas of the year of manufacture?

According to that site, 1977.

I had an 1895 that I wanted to know the date of manufacture. I called Marlin, someone called me back shortly with the year it was made. This was a few years ago perhaps before Remlin.
