x2  --- although i would expand this to say , any Blackhawk .45 , new or old model .     The newer convertible cylinder Blackhawks are nice , as you get a cylinder for .45 Colt  when its time to get busy  and another for .45 ACP for cheaper plinking

Glock 17?

I would think a Ruger Blackhawk/Vaquero or SAA clone would be the right feel.

S&W 629 44mag. Of course I'm going to suggest that you ditch the 30-30 and get a 44 mag rifle.

Blackhawk in .45 colt. Adjustable sights are a good thing.

Anything that floats your boat, especially a single-action.  A .30-30 lever action is about as generic a rifle as you can get, no insult intended I have 3 of them,  There's no caliber combo here so go for it.

Beat me to it!

Doesn't one of the "derringer" companies make one in 30/30, too?

While I have the same setups as posted in these great pics, if choosing only one, without question, it would be the .44 mag, model 29. It can be loaded from very light plinking loads to loads suitable for elk and moose. In the middle of the load spectrum are a range of loads suitable for home defense.
