For gun safe lighting.

A friend of mine and I each bought one of these:

(left cold because lefties suck) and our batteries are dying in one or two weeks.  Appears to be a sensor issue.  Anyone have an alternative PIR sensor that doesn't suck?

Thanks.

Reply to myself, bad form.

After reading enough "lights stay on" reviews for about a half dozen various PIR sensors on the jungle store, I think I am going to fabricate a mount and place a pushbutton switch (closed=off, open=on) to mate up to the surfaces of one of my hinge brackets.

Anyone done anything like this and care to share tips?

If you have power wired in, I have been using one of these for the last 4yrs.  Works great, has a timer dial and picks up both the door motion or if the door is open and I walk back to the safe.  Best of all I picked it up at Home Depot for about 15 bucks.  I have LED rope lights mounted around the interior walls and floor of my safe.  The sensor is mounted to the divider wall in the front of the safe.
