I found it for him by looking at safe rooms online and sent him a pic and he liked it.  I'm sure there are several companies that do but I believe his is from: http://www.rhinovault.com/gun_rack_components.htm

He told me it took a month or more to get it in.

ETA: I believe it is Gallow Tech as suggested below.

Gallow Tech is local to me. Their product is hands down the best there is in its category. Brent, (the owner) is a class act and will do whatever it takes to make sure his customers are happy. If any of you are on the fence about whether or not to order. Do it, you won't be disappointed.

That's Gallow Tech's stuff. Rhino Vault must be a dealer. The pics on his site are taken right off Gallow Tech's site.

Glad to hear they are a solid company and you're happy with it.  Their stuff certainly looks good.

It should be pointed out that GT's design is less "dense" than their competitors, due to the staggered hole spacing and layout used.  Moving something a little bit left or right or up or down involves moving in larger increments than other brands.  If maximum density is important to the end user, it would be hard to honestly say they are "the best" in that regard.

Not slamming them, and I hope it isn't taken that way, but that should be part of a pro/con analysis for anyone wanting to use it.

I'm putting the finals touches on my room in the next couple weeks, and once my finances recover I will be getting the gallows products.

ETA: I read further and saw that it was answered.

If you make it end about 6 inches above the floor, it will be less obvious.... You can always just step over a small lip.

I'll make a trim board on the bottom that will make it look built in but that will swing with the mirror therefore no lip or threshold to step over

Do you have to Drywall before you put up the Gallow Tech product?  Or can it be installed without.

Gallow just bolts directly to whatever surface you want to.  You can even anchor it into concrete with proper anchors.  Each panel gets bolted down.

Having studs with known spacing makes it real easy.

Go with Gallow. Even if you only buy 1 or 2 panels. You can expand as much as you like until you run out of walls. Brent is a seriously guy to do business with.

Maybe this was answered elsewhere- but your door in the closet- are the walls reinforced? what stops a burglar from punching a hole in your sheetrock and getting in?

Kinda. It used to be stables and then he had it turned into a man room/garage. So it has big roll up doors on either end.

I had a crazy disorganized and dirty room a few pages back, but I'm finally making some headway on my room.  So far, I've got my Sturdy door mounted, wall seal and insulation complete, framing 75% complete, and electrical about 50% complete.  My plans are a barnwood ceiling, weathered corrugated on the walls with two 4x10' section of Slatwall MX to display my firearms (I realized one 4x10' section barely gave me enough room to display what I already had, let alone give me room to grow).  I plan to build plenty of bench and shelving when the interior gets buttoned up.  I hope to have it close to finished before the nice weather comes back.

Very, very nice! Your plans sound great. I will be following your progress and can't wait until the finished product. Since you're not keeping your firearms directly inside a safe that can provide good humidity and moisture control, it is crucial you do so for the large space where they are contained. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Need to throw a couple more furring strips on the ceiling and I'll be ready for drywall. Should have paint and flooring done in the next 5-6 weeks. Now I need to figure out a layout for benches/cabinets and wall color.

Here's the updated progress as of today. Drywall will be finished Thursday so paint will come next week followed by flooring. All the wires hanging out of the wall are for the security cameras, internet, cable, etc..

Coming along very nice

Im happy with it so far. It was pretty labor intensive putting the furring strips on the ceiling. Adhesive, hammer drill and tapcons(x4) per strip and about 50 strips. Took a while but its worth it.

This thread is awesome!  You guys have some nice ideas.  I am getting ready to build a house and I incorporated a vault into the plans.  I spoke with Ft Knox and I now have a vault door on order.  The guys there gave me a very generous discount so if your on the fence, message them and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.
I have a question that I keep debating on, what should I do to control the moisture?  I was planning on putting a small drain line in so I can keep a dehumidifier running and insulating the walls.  Is that the best strategy?

I have a dehumidifier, but didnt do a drain line. I just empty it out once a week in the floor drain outside the room. I dont have any HVAC going into the the room and electrical conduit running under the wall/floor to the electrical panel. I didnt want any holes going in or out.

ETA: The room stays between 62-68 all year long. I insulated the one exterior facing wall, so Im assuming with that and the drywall it will stay a little warmer and more consistent throughout the year.

I figured I'd throw in a few more shots of my progress.  I got the first of two sections of Slatwall up and hung the majority of my firearms.  My FIL dropped off a few more to clean up his safe, so I'm already onto the other wall.  Progress is slow as I'm still waiting on the lumber yard to finish drying my wood for the ceiling and benches.

I also included a pic of my basement layout.  People had asked why the odd shape.  I simply used the space under the front porch.  By placing the door where I did, on the left side in the picture, not the right, you have no idea there is even anything there unless you walk around the corner.  Even the appraiser missed it, which shows how much attention to detail they have....
