Lined the walls with steel mesh and need atleast a steel door but if someone really wants to get in they can just bust the actual stairs up.

My oddball of a room is shaped the way it is because it lies directly beneath our front porch.  I simply had the builders block and fill the outline of the porch rather than pour a slab over fill dirt.  I had the masons leave the exact opening I needed for the Sturdy door and framed down from the porch for the ceiling.  If I remember, the approximate size is 200 sq/ft.  Here's a sketch of the size.  The only difference from the print is the door is on the left of the safe room versus the right in the plans.  Unless you walk over to that part of the basement, you don't even know it's there.

I would put another coat or 2 of Dry Lock on the walls based on the "before" picture and the fact that it looks as if there are areas that didn't get as thick of a coating as others.

Thank guys.. I may actually stain the wood.. not sure yet on that.

As for that drainage.. just one wall is only part underground and the drainage has been redone.   But I will be doing more drylock now.. thanks

Also did a lil decorating and rearranging for fun this weekend and moved in an extra futon..  It will prob not stay once reloading benches get put in.

I would also do a nice garage floor paint on the floor too. Something to seal everything up. That is what I did in my room and it's been very dry.

Probably either a wall safe or the structure's circuit-breaker panel/box...

ETA: Not really a gun "room" per se, but here's a crappy cell potato pic of the "meaty" section of one of my two small armories.
Eventually this rack will be wall-mounted inside a custom cage assembly with the ammo cans stacked below it rather than beside it...

Wow, you have so much more luck with those racks than me!  I can never get more than 1 in 5 or so or my ARs to fit in them, due to grips, sights, etc always coming up with a new and ingenious way to physically interfere with some part of the rack structure.

Of course, if that is 1 in 5 of your ARs, then

@ TAP...

If you use standard A2 pistol grips, receivers, & single-sided safeties on your ARs, then you're generally good to go with an M12 weapons rack.
You can even use a Magpul MOE grip & still fit ok, though it will cause the weapon to sit slightly higher in the rack.
All the rifles pictured here except the one propped up on the far left fit just fine. The propped up rifle on the left has an ambi safety & thus isn't compatible with the M12,
but that particular rifle is actually assigned to an entirely different rack system at an alternate location. I just had it in to do some work on it at the time I took the photo.

I thought about just doing that but I drop alot of parts concrete is pretty rough on them.  I have some extra laminate flooring, I am gonna put that down.  But I will end up sealing it under that now tho.. so thank for the advice.

Dont worry its nothing exciting FlDiveCop71 got it correct with the breaker box. There maybe some room to stash something back there tho

No real updates on the room tho.. been to Wyoming for a week.  Just some pics of the home away from home security since I had to drive thru Illinois. Also a great case for transporting equipment all together no matter where I am going.

I've got a gun room being built at my new place.  Concrete filled CMU walls with a Ft Knox vault door, 10'8"x8'8" with 10' ceiling.  Thank you everyone for the awesome pictures and tons of info on the forum!

I'm going to go with New Age cabinets and Wall Control peg/slot boards on the walls.

What's everyone doing for the ceilings?

I tapcon'd a metric fuck ton of 2''x2'' furring strips to the steel and ran drywall.

Take a serious look at Gallowtech. PM me if you have any questions about any of their stuff. Reasonably priced and looks badass.

Second on the gallowtech recommendation.  I have been using them since they came out and it's a fantastic product that gets better with every new accessory release.

I've been lusting after all of these rooms for years. Fortunately, our new place happened to have a utility room that was entirely cinderblocked. Threw a steel door on it with cameras and alarms and away I went! The furnace is in here and keeps it 70*F all winter. I wanted Gallowtech but the shipping up here cost more than the order, so I settled with Wall Control metal pegboards from Amazon. It doesn't fit all my guns to display but I can rotate them as needed. Also where I watch Walking Dead on Sundays

What brand of storage shelves are those? They look sturdy and not as deep as some of the other options that are out there. Thats about what Im looking for.

I'm not 100% sure, the previous owners left them here. However, I did see ones that look exactly like them at Costco a few weeks ago so I assume they're the same ones.

A little progress. House is a daylight basement so I designed a room in the back corner downstairs to use as my gun room. Figured this didn't need its own thread but I should at least post some pics and info since I love following build threads. The foundation was poured last week so I can update with more stuff and take some pictures from the inside when Im there tomorrow working on drainage.

I’m having to figure out a drain and a utility sink in there by the end of the week.
