I've tried searching on Arf and Sig forums and only found one post referencing weights.

Upper receiver weights (no BCG or CH)
Legacy: 1lb 2oz
Virtus: 1lb 3oz
Rattler: 1lb 1oz

Mutt gun.

For the Virtus, do you want completely stripped? No rail adapter also?

@doolz
Completely stripped, no rail attached, bcg, or barrel.
If it's not too much trouble. Don't break a gun's zero for me lol.

@2Keylows

ETA: Mush brain on original post.

Below is my stripped Virtus upper. I does not have the factory forward assist as I removed it for the low-profile delete.

I have an extra low profile forward assist delete and the stock forward assist that I can weigh separately to see the differences in the two.

Can get those tomorrow if you want.

Thank you so much. I hope you didn't break down an already zero'd gun lol.
We should be good there.
FA - 1.45 oz
Low Profile .55 oz

Looks like the weights I quoted before are pretty accurate based on your reported weights.
Interesting that a Rattler upper is close to the Gen1/Legacy uppers. This gives me the push I need to actively start searching for a gen1 upper.
Thank you again for confirming.

Does anyone know where I can find a G marked safety latch? I have special trigger I’d like to use in my Virtus but I can find a G safety latch. Thanks

Why the hell do 14.5" 5.56mm MCX pistols have LE-only restrictions from the factory?  11.5" and shorter MCX pistols are been for sale to the general public, so what's so special about a longer (but still <16") barrel?

Are they still LE only?  I just got a 7.62x39 16" Virtus.  They were LE/Mil only guns but recently got taken off the list and can now be sold to civilians which is how I got mine.

As mentioned, there are no more restrictions on the LE 'Virtus' guns as they're discontinued. As to why originally only LE/MIL mostly because there's not enough demand on the commercial side. Similar situation with the 8" MPX, or the 3.9" 320 Pro Carry. Sig is mercenary about making what sells, and dropping what doesn't. What goes through the LE/MIL channel is a drop (an important one, but still a drop) in the bucket of Sig's bottom line.

I emailed three stores earlier this morning asking them to do that, and two have replied to me saying "If the gun started life with an LE-only 'W' SKU then it has to stay that way."

e: The third place replied and said the 14.5" MCX Virtus pistol isn't removed.

e2: Any suggestions on finding a Virtus lower that isn't marked up $1000?  I found a 14.5" Virtus upper that doesn't have the LE restriction, but it's just the upper, no lower.

I’ve been flirting with the idea of selling off the lower from my Virtus.  I’m not 100% committed to parting with it which is why I haven’t listed it.  It’s a black lower so it would match the LE upper.  Shoot me a message and we can chat about it if you want.

I literally called every shop within 100 miles looking for complete rifles lol and uppers

The spear lt is sexy and I would put one on my CC I. A heart beat if I could find one locally for 2500 or less I. West va or a non tax deal online

West va has no tax on firearms and ammo

I have to drive either 50-60miles each way to a gun shop east of home or drive 110 West to Morgantown to the bigger stores

Eurooptic prices don't seem high for the 16" uppers

Which does the hive prefer, an 11.5" Virtus or 14.5" Virtus, and why? Personally leaning toward the latter as I can always grab an 11.5" Spear-LT down the road.

Not discounting your needs, but dudes have been killin baddies with 10.3" barrels out to 3-400 easily for a long long time.  And with 300 BO, you can get full powder burn by 9" or so.  No need to go longer with a can and just have extra weight you have to lug around.  Learn your dope with whatever supersonic round you're using and start slaying.

Your property is beautiful. There are work arounds to this problem. Get the Rattler and buy components (OP Rod) to use Virtus Barrels and rails.
https://www.virtuous-concepts.com/product-page/rattler-xtn
Good news is even a Rattler's 5.5" .300 BO barrel can cover 150yds effectively. It will still be Supersonic and carry enough power to hit hard and expand with a few super loads. Not sure about subs yet my rookie ass doesn't own any suppressors yet

I have the G latch and a mil-spec trigger and its a 100% fail due to light primer strikes. Next range trip im swapping a few triggers until I get one that works. Its pretty disappointing.

@kbi
Arlington VA? I was there from 2005-2008. VA was amazing back then but I was to naive to comprehend suppressors and it's a shame. I was a young Army Private back then and didn't know any better. When I finally woke up and caught on with the times, I realized I was way behind the power curve and needed suppressor hosts, not suppressors. It was a few months before VA Lobby Day 2019 and I got focused and started building up. I started with a few, added a few, and before I knew it had a few more! I definitely cannot complain.

I may not have Suppressors, NVG's or LAD's but I've got guns, ammo, functional kit & med covered pretty well. Everything I need moving forward I'll have an easier ability to buy or aquire compared to guns. Plus my top priority is to relocate my family to a more conservative area. I am stuck behind Blue lines in WA State and with an assault weapons ban looming along with all the other infringements already in play, I am done. It was a good run but I need to find a permanent home. My nomadic days are done. We've been looking hard at OK because MT or WY are a bit out of reach for what we would like. I was also looking at WV but I worry about its close proximity to DC so Oklahoma it is. Once I get to where I am going and determine what threats I need to deter and repel, I will plug the gaps. I have had my eye on the Dead Air Sandman and Nomad but we will see. Who knows where we will all be in a year.

Back to the Virtus though.... Did you find one yet? I still hope there are a few uppers and maybe one more complete gun in my future but I love the two I have.

I have the time I just need to start putting it to better use. If I did I'd probably already own several suppressors. I need to take initiative on this lol.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this yet but I was just catching up with the latest JaySituation podcast (Pew Science suppressor testing guy).

He specifically mentioned that the design of the CGS Hyperion may rob enough gas from the system on the short 300blk MCX when shooting subsonics to cause function issues.

I know at least 2 of us in this thread have had issues getting our 6.75" 300bk MCXs to run subsonic with a CGS Hyperion.  Turns out we aren't crazy.

Currently have my MCX set up to shoot 5.56 for a class in May, but will be repeating the tests I did a month or two ago using the Hyperion using something without the Hyperion system like my Rugged Micro30 and see how subsonics play with the MCX using a different can.

I would hope that the suppressor sig designed for the gun works well with it.

Of course, they discontinued it and the clone dweebs make sure used ones are selling for 2x or more of the original price.

Thankfully Sig designed an updated gas valve assembly.

…but they wont sell it to us unless we buy a whole barrel xchange kit.

So knowing what cans might or might not function with the F01 piston is useful for those of us stuck with legacy 6.75 barrels and not legacy cans, but thank you very, very much for your helpful contribution and new information.  You’re a gentleman and a scholar.

Hey guys I have a question.

I am trying to get a 16" 5.56 conversion kit for my Virtus.  It comes with the barrel, piston assembly, and a bolt.  My Virtus is the 7.62x39 LE variant.  Do I need to source a specific firing pin for the 5.56 variant, or is the firing pin the same between the x39 and 5.56 guns?

Based on the second pic, looks like a bad round went off inside the chamber. Maybe a squib beforehand?

That doesn't look like no reason.

At least the part is modular and replaceable.
