After searching high and low I found a set of Swiss sights for my 556.
They a far superior to the US made crap that came on the rifle.
Here are a few pictures.

I'm definitely missing something here.

Why have sights designed for slow-fire precision long-range shooting on a gun designed for close-quarters, rapid-fire combat?

IIRC, they have a wide notch for <100 yds combat.

And if you must reach out to 400 yds, a twist of the drum gets you close to being in target.

I knew it had to have something to do with it being a platform-specific diopter set.  When I saw 'diopter' and 'Swiss' I immediately thought of the sights intended for use on a target/sniper rifle.

Like this:

Ah, I see now!

Yes, that would be an odd system to adapt for a Semi!

I seem to have lost my rear diopter sight for my 556 SBR....which is FUCKING ANNOYING considering the freakin cost of these things.

Why they're so expensive is beyond me...but they work great.

They have a notch for rapid target acquisition but these sights are much better than the USA diopters.
Now when i shoulder the rifle the sight picture is right there on all the settings.
Best thing is now they co witness with my Aimpoint.
Worth every penny i spent!

How many pennies would that be and where did you purchase it?

I would also like to know where you purchased these and price.  Thanks.

Did you sight it in yet?  Do they work OK?

Wild guess but I wouldn't be surprised if the rear sight alone is over 5 franklins.

Is it some sort of super secret where these came from and how much they cost ?

Alright here is where I got them John Doe Investigations is the importer for Swiss Arms they are in Frisco TX.
The set was $340 shipped.
Was able to get some time at the range today and I must say they were worth it.
Windage was dead on and had to move the elevation up about 5 clicks.
My SIG went from 1/2 way between a AK & Mini-14 groups to what my AR's shoot.
Probably could have shot better if there wasn't any wind.
I'll take it to our 300 yard range this weekend and shoot from a rest and see how it does.

Gorgeous set up!
Slightly off topic, but I gotta ask, why did Sig drop those rifles with the Swiss type furniture? I really wanted to get one eventually, they're so sexy!

That's a great price for that set. Actually a lot lower than I originally thought.  Looks great.  Now I want a set.

cwikjr, do those sights bolt onto the picatinny rail? If so, then I will look into buying a set.

I thought that all of the Swiss Sig sights were welded.

They attach to the rail. They are a big improvement over the USA SIG sights. The only thing I don't like is the front is a folder but I found a +N height fixed front that I'll be picking up now that the holidays are over.

I haven't taken it out to our 300 yard range yet winter has set in and just taking it easy and trying to keep warm.

These look awesome - Do they sit up higher than the regular swiss diopters?  It looks like the front sight is pretty high

[#27]
Swiss diopters so or not, sitting a sight on top of the 556 rail makes them too high to comfortably use with the standard Swiss stock unless you use a cheek riser.  I went with the MFI rail with integrated diopter on my 551A1 to get the sight down to the proper height that the stock is made for.

I'm sure it's been covered before, but how is the quality of the components in the MFI diopter?  thinking of ranging, positive detents, etc.
