Yes-

It started life as a Patrol Carbine.

Cut down and cerakoted.

Had a good time blasting with my new shooter!

It's pretty loud without that muffler!

I picked up a patrol today.

This feels much more balanced than my classic.

The dealer also offered me a Ruger Precision Rifle in 308  at a 10% discount ($920 OTD), but I declined - which was probably a mistake.

Did a bit of training on Saturday. Quite muddy here (tons of rain in the south lately), I had several mags that go mud in them. Even so, the 556 ate everything it was fed without slowing down one bit. Love this rifle.

Which handguards are these? Have a line on a 556R but it has a Troy quad rail on it that is way to heavy.

That is the standard forearm on the 556xiR. Here's mine with my 556 Patrol.

The forearm is supposed to be compatible with Magpul MOE mounts, but I couldn't get it to work right. Too tight of tolerances.

My new to me (Thanks Gary) Swat Patrol that will  soon be green and a SBR.

I really like my Patrol SBR, but there are a few challenges.

1. The sight plane is lower than an AR, so mounts/sights and optics choices are somewhat limited.

2. The AR magwell looks stupid, destroying the CLASSIC look of the Sig 55x rifles. Switching out the lower is expensive, but then forces you to use proprietary mags that are not easy/cheap to find/buy. I'm not trying to collect one of everything, but instead streamlining my logistics down to just a few commonly available caliber/magazine platforms.

3. Safety is difficult to engage with normal-size hands.  I added extended safety levers to my 556 and 556xiR so I can engage them easily.

4. I still want to update my stock to the non-collapsing version. I hate the way this stock looks, and I never adjust the length.

Overall, I like the ruggedness of the Sig rifle and it's compatibility with an existing caliber/magazine I already have chosen to support.

Btw- I once had a G36 clone that was pretty awesome, but divested myself of it because it didn't fit this criteria (mine used G36 mags).

Not too crazy about the shade of gray.  Worst case I will just try a different gray.  Hand guards are on order from Switzerland.

Got this off gun broker, now to wait for it to show up. Thinking Sig Romeo 5 or a HoloSun red dot with the big fat circle from primary arms. What do you guys think

My 556. Bought new in 2009 or around that. First AR actually. Think it was marketed as the Holo model because it came with this little red dot. Its not too bad actually, but never use it. Been considering selling it for a while now because i never shoot it, but I might hang on to it.
It has the Troy  rail, Magpul Stock, Hogue hand grip.

Now that is some beautiful honest wear. I don't see a serial number on the bolt carrier or upper receiver. Were these replaced?

In their un-neutered form they are not importable to the US for civilian sale. 553 (and soon to be 551 short barrel) pistols are imported for sale in the US.

I like this version as well. I will soon have a MFI MAD rear sight on it. I am considering changing out the suppressor ready YHM FH to an original SIG FH.

Better late than never!

Here is my 2008 Sig 556 swat with classic handguards, carbine extension tube and MOE stock, I like this better than the folder but I am thinking about putting on a A1 style fixed stock like the one from Cavalry mfg. When I bought it back in 2010 it had the fish gill forend and the folding stock with the plastic extension tube that I changed out and put away, can't find the original stock.

This had the canted top rail and I just got it back from Sig, they fixed it under warranty after all these years.
