Will this work with all AUG stocks or ?

I have a few. They do exactly what you'd expect them to do - catch brass. Honestly, I don't really use them.
They work with all AUG stocks, but not all AUG's. They're made for the A1 so depending on what you have you might have to trim the plastic to make it fit, @rtpguy cut one up for his A3. ETA maybe not all AUG stocks. Never put one on a 9MM stock. I might check that and report back. |

Does it works as a brass deflector also? Is that what the large spot on top is for?

Probably. If you use it like that there's a small nub toward the front that prevents it from laying flat against the stock in that position.

I just fitted one to my A3. It's wearing Pete's A2 style extended rail and a USR stock, but the brass catcher fits if you remove some of the angled rib at the top to allow it to slide under the back of the rail. It should fit the A3M1 with a short rail, or optic, without much issue.
If you reload, it's really a nice thing to have. |
