The LGS has a tavor.   I can get it for a shade under $2000.   It is a USA made gun, and accepts standard AR mags.  This is all I know.  I really like it.  What say the hive?

U.S. made?
Thought it is an Israeli manufacturer...

It's made in the U.S. By the Israeli OE Manufacturer.  This is how they get around the importation ban.  - I guess

$2000 yikes!

Technet Armory has then for $1700 and you might find them cheaper than that if you look around. I don't even like the tavor, but I'd hate to see someone waste their money when a better deal is to be had...

It's $1850ish out the door.  We have a 5% sales tax in VA.  They're willing to do a layaway too.  Tell me how they shoot.  What kind of accuracy can I expect?   I'm thinking that 60rd p-drum mag the wife got me for Christmas would go with it really well

Regular Tavor in my opinion is more accurate than the X95.

X95 has okay accuracy, more of a red dot rifle.  I like both so I am biased.

You can't go wrong with either.  Just keep in mind it is not an ar15, although the x95 has ar like ergonomics.

The original Tavor SAR has a heavy trigger.  IWI has a redesigned trigger pack in the X95 which is close to an AR-15 in weight and feel.  The newer Tavor SAR are supposed to be getting the new trigger as soon as enough are available.  There are after market triggers that are great.  I have the Geissele Super Sabra but Shooting Sight triggers are also highly regarded.

Because of the location of the magwell, drums don't fit the shooter well.

I love the Tavor. Mine is quite accurate. I think the trigger is quite good. It's not light, but it feels like a light double action revolver trigger.

Two grand is high. $1700-1750 would be a fair max.

Haven't tried larger one, but the Magpul D-60 drum works wonderfully with the Tavor. Like it's made for it.

Great rifles, either Tavor SAR or X95.   Love them.  Only bullpups I want to own.   Uses AR mags, has thumb safety like AR, controls instinctive.

The Tavor is my favorite rifle these days.  I put in  the TAV-D trigger pack and lightning bow and the trigger is awesome.

Nice rifles, a 40 mag does not feel awkward at all, unless you go prone, trigger is not a match one but more Glock like.
Since I have a red dot on it the trigger is not a deal breaker. If you want magnification there are trigger packs available for it.

Its not completely made in USA . I think I had a warning That came with my SAR  that said not to use foreign mags, muzzle brakes, or fire control groups or it could be out of compliance with I assume 922r regs. Adding the manticore buttpad and gear head charging handle helps a lot .

I did not like the Magpul drum mag on my X95. Felt awkward. The 60 rd Surefire was weird as well.

Strangely enough, I prefer using 20 round mags with my X95 and my SBRs.

I had the first run of Tavors, sold mine to buy the X95.

I love mine, shoots great, 20 rd Lancer Mags is what I like most in mine. However I have tried other brand magazines and they all work fine.

I just have to decided which LaRue mount to get with my MRO.
