Sorry for the crappy photo.

I'll break out the adult camera this weekend.

Edit:  I need a new mount for the ACOG.  Which seems to be at the perfect height for me.

For size comparison

Nice bullpups.
I'm already on the Tavor bandwagon, but still sorta crave a 16" barrel OD Green AUG.

Nice bullpups, you need to get them to the range. I got a tavor a few months ago and its a great shooter. Easy to clean and fun to shoot. You should get a rail and vertical grip for the tavor, not too much and a big improvement.

I was wondering about the A3 optic as well. I have one and it's excellent quality, as you would expect. But my A3 Aug has the long/tall military high rail. Obviously the short/stumpy rail like you have may very well work. But the standard A3 rail was made for the US market and standard height optics people use on guns like AR to mimic the dimensions of an AR. The long/tall rail was designed to use the A3 optic.

Congrats on both rifles. I'm a big AUG fan. Don't own a Tavor at this time. But that will probably change when IWI comes out with the X-95.

I want an AUG.

Anyone notice Jerry M's shoot out with 3 bullpups, the Tavor, AUG and FNS2000 I think. Best I recall it seemed he had the best results with the AUG. Tavor's have come down to a lower price though haven't they?

Yea, I've been trying to get a Austrian High rail for my A3... buts it's been impossible so far.
I just keep checking PJsSteyrAug website waiting for him to get more in. But nothing yet.

Yup, I do love the look and function of the high rail. I bought it from Pete that way along with the scope and grip rails as a package.

But I'm in the same boat as you. I'm waiting on the locking nut and flash suppressor like you see on my normal A3 there. So I can put it on a barrel and a scoped M1 I have. Probably gonna be a long wait. Pete has had them on backorder for a while. Granted Steyr is probably still make the A3 flash suppressor and the high rail because they make and sell the A3 and SF models to foreign police and military.

I think the high rails are done. A3's are no longer - not much reason to bring in the high rails. Maybe calling Pete would help get you on a list or something, but a WTB ad or even one of the other rails at that height (though not Steyr) might get you to the proper height quicker.

The A3 scope doesn't feel right at that height, with the high rail height it is perfectly aligned and your neck isn't smashed over trying to get a good sight picture.

No.  I'm not shooting the gun.  I just set it there for the photo.  Irony and all that.

I didn't camp there either.

Very nice purchases.
Nice to see someone shooting in real weather and not staying home when its rain or snowing cuz they are afraid they are gonna melt.

Refreshing photos

Thank you!

The worst part of shooting in the snow is tryting to find the brass.

We had a blanket layed out to catch most of it, but after a while, it was buried.  We put the whole thing, snow and all, in the back of the truck and put it out in the driveway to wait for the snow to melt off to get our brass back.

That's a tough question to answer.

The simple answer is, that if Steyr made a full on Lefty AUG, I'd probably like that better.  I just like the way it feels and shoots.  (about 500 rounds through each)

But the Tavor will probably be my "go to" rifle because the manual of arms is better for a left handed shooter.

I'll shoot 'em some more and give more feedback as I learn more about them.
