Ran the aug today.. 260,429, 726... Yards...Steal 10x10" plates shooting of a rock castle.. And this guns killing them at whatever range.. Amazing.. I am by no means a great shot but this gun is more capable then I could ever ask for and a great selection for anyone wanting a no bullshit bad situation rifle.. Love this thing..

Yeah... I know I might catch some flack but I do paint on all my guns... I feel that if in reality shit ever did go south.. Guys like you me and everyone on this web page would be more Gorilla. Fighters then organized squads and big units. I also grew up watching Red Dawn and Iron eagle a bunch as a kid.. So don't  laugh but I do the freedom fighter logo on all my guns.. It's a hand holding a Molotov cocktail and then I write freedom fighter and Wolverines on the other side.. Always liked the idea of Everyday Americans standing up and fighting for Freedom.. So all my guns sport a form of those two things.. On my Aug and a few Aks. I also have a rosary.. It's a reminder that if evil comes I will fight till The Lord above turns out my light... Just makes my guns feel more a part of the family.. Not just a hunk of metal and poly...my wife does the same with hers.. Kinda on the lines of how Achilles decorated his shield.. But yeah sorry about the long explanation..

Finally got one!! I'm in love!

changed it around a bit.  I am loving this thing, even more than the AUG.  I'm sold, the TAVOR is the way to go.  The two biggest reasons are sling attachment point and where the mag release is located.  I can have the mag changed before the empty mag hits the floor.  Other reasons include shape of the grip, how balanced it is, mag compatibility, and how it shoots.

Check out the rest on my Duracoat experience here: Duracoat Color Match; Glock FDE / Tavor Reassemble / Color Comparison Pictures

I bought Duracoat Aerosol #199 GLK Dark Earth and it turned out to be a bad match. I want to get the warning out in case anybody has thought about matching, I assume Lauer is going to sell the wrong color Aerosol until they run out.

After my first attempt with the #199 GLK Dark Earth Aerosol I sent my Glock FDE magazine to Lauer. The custom color people did a good job. Around 2 week turnaround +/- shipping.

If you need help with Tavor Trigger Reassembly, Magazine Release Reassembly, or just plain want the Tavor Armorer's manual visit here: TAVOR ARMORER'S LINK

My biggest love is the grip flashlight button. You can see in the photos, I spray painted the washer red... My flashlight came with a cabled remote. The remote was molded into a secondary backcap, so I was free to destroy the original button cap that came on the stock light.

The cap unscrewed easy and I was able to pull out the button guts with the rubber cover. I pressed the button into the original weld, only had to cut a 1/4 square hole in the supporting grip so the cable could run. With a little soldering ($5) from walmart and this $80 maverick from olight I have accomplished everything I need.

Being able to click the button on and off from the grip is fun, to say the least.

Let me know if there is any interest for photos/info on the grip flashlight button. I am thinking about posting the switch breakdown in my other Tavor DIY thread.

Well Glock's FDE frames can be visibly different colors batch to batch and gen to gen, so that probably explains the bad match.

I agree, kinda...

If you look at the forum in my above post or here on my tumblr http://jschrubbe.tumblr.com/ to see the color comparison.

I have an FDE magazine purchased separate from my 2013 FDE 23 and the colors are dead close.  The paint from Lauers was very green. Almost looked like they put the OD green glock paint in the FDE cans.

I'd understand shades of difference, but check out the photos... the difference is great.

Your 3x. Is there a flip away mount for it?
Link Posted: 3/17/2014 5:13:48 PM EDT
[#50]
Its the quick disconnect IDF mount.  You pull a plastic lever and it releases a steel pin so that the 3x can be rotated 90 degees from the rifle body then slid off a tapered round dovetail type mount.
