Sample size = ????

SD = 0.XXXXX  <-- with five significant digits, sample size must have been HUGE!

Heh, heh, I can't do that well with a sample size of one.

It takes 14 or more rounds to get a reasonable sample size for ES and SD. It seems you have good numbers heading that way.

Have those Nosler bullets worked well on target for you in the past, or are you just trying them now for the first time?

I bought a box of 250 years ago but never got around to trying them.

Talk to us when you get at least one 10rd string.

3 rounds is not even statistically significant, and only gives you a very narrow snapshot into what's going on.

One time I was testing loads I got the exact same velocity for 4 or 5 rounds in a row, but after 10 rounds my extreme spread was 12.  This was with extreme care given to every step of the reloading process including sorting bullets by bearing surface area and having someone that knew what they were doing anneal the cases for me.  After that experiment I quit sorting bullets as there was very little increase in ES without doing it and it did not show up on target even at long range.

3 rounds just isn't enough data

If you're using a Chargemaster without fine tuning the charge weight and you get an ES of 1, you need a new chronograph.

Couple weeks ago I got a SD of 4fps and an ES of 14 with a 15shot string.................one fucking time, the load is usually SD 6-8fps and 24-30 ES with 10-15 shot strings. Don't even bother observing SD and ES for strings under 10 shots and even then one string isn't enough.

Shot 3/4 MOA at 100 yards.  The 107SMK shot about 1/2MOA at the same barrel time.  I think this is pretty typical for the CC vs SMK.  Basically I just re-worked the same load swapping out the SMK for the CC.

Will try to shoot out to 1000 yards this weekend.
