Much better deal than the Snap-on I got that lasted one use, and they wont warrantee.
That was the last snap-on tool I will ever buy. $400 GONE

It has many uses.
There water proof. I used one to heck plumbing. Check inside walls for water damage, etc. Great little cheap tool. |

Lyman has one coming out specifically for looking down gun bores. I'll hold out until the reviews are in on that one.

I have to tell you, after buying an endoscope, as nice as it is, the Hawkeye kit with 90 degree eyepiece is a better deal, and I think it's more useful. Mine works okay, but the straight eyepiece is a pain. What I should do is order the video adapter. I got mine on the advice of a highly regarded gunsmith. The Lyman ads appear to show a 90 degree view, but I can't find a description that confirms that spec. Reviews at Accurate Shooter show that more light or a reflective white bore patch is needed to illuminate the bore for good images. That doesn't surprise me, more light the better as long as it is reflected into the lens. Based on my experience, I recommend a white light in bores. Incandescent lights tend to a yellow color that gives an illusion of copper when looking down a bore; this is less of an issue with the direct view of the surface with a borescope, but a white light is better. |

Great idea. I saw something at the movies the other day that places in Africa are using smart phones with attachements for ultrasound type devices for pregnant women. They don't have the fancy med equipment we have and it's interesting what these smart devices are capable of.
I could see a decent bore scope attachment in the future. |
