Use data for 124gr bullets, are they plated or FMJ?
Adjust OAL so that it feeds and functions with your magazine and barrel. |

Truncated cone bullets usually load the same length as hollow point bullets. The industry standard lengthfor 9 mm hollow points is 1.120" but there are some unique bullet designs that are designed to load to different lengths. The standard hollow point cartridge length would be a good point to start. Use load data for hollow points of the same weight as the truncated cone bullets.

My Speer manual lists info for 124g jacketed bullets:
Speer 9mm Data ** have to be a member to see the load data. I'm not and my manual is at home. |

I would venture start around 4.3gr, put them over chrono and see where you at for velocity

Not exactly what you are looking for but...
My current go-to 9mm load: 115 gr. Rocky Mtn. plated RN 4.9 gr Unique Fed GM100M or Win WSP primer Assorted cases < .754" Lee FCD at 3/4 turn crimp COAL: 1.100" 5 shots @ 1139 FPS through a G17 into .625" at 8 yds at 60 degrees F. Shoots great through a Sig P226 as well. Hope that helps you some. |

I load 3.7 of Red Dot with the RMR 124 gr FP and like it pretty good.

I loaded up some test rounds to see what OAL would work for my gun (PPQ M1)
1.120 would not feed. I had to go shorter 2/100's down to 1.100. Will I still be OK pressure wise? I would be starting with 4.0 gr of HP38. Thanks again. |

for powder charge, try 4.6gr of 231. Max according to Hogdon is 4.8.
ETA: I see you're going to start with 4.0. That should be MORE than safe, in fact it might not even cycle the gun, but load a small batch and see how it works out. |

Hell, I run 3.5 under either Berry's or X-treme 124's and it cycles my stock M&P9 just fine. Bullets are stable too, as I am shooting through a suppressor(Octane 9HD) with no keyholing or baffle strikes. 865 fps. This is my fav. subsonic load in 9mm. Soft and QUIET. |
