Pre filled 600 small pistol primers into Dillon tubes. Need to buy more tubes from Dillon.

Cleaned 2,000 9 mm cases.

loaded 500 223 into magazines.

Side note, 50 cal ammo cans full of 45 and 9mm are freaking heavy.

Loaded up My ladder test for the AR-10, I think it may be worth braving the weather to go test it out Tomorrow. I'd like to find some thing that works, so I can run 50 of them off,  before I switch back to .223.

I'm slowly getting there, I have a lot of load development built, and ready to when the weather turns. Build some .223 77gr loads for the new 20" barreled AR, and a load for the 300 BO with the 110gr black tips, I'll be good to go

Took my son to the range on Saturday to unload some cases for reloading.

Experienced my first ever squib load.  The ejected case was very sooty, and the 230 gr cast bullet was lodged only about 1/2" into my 1911's rifling.  I'm assuming there was no powder in the case at all - got only a tiny "poof" when I pulled the trigger.  I've been reloading for 8 years and have loaded tens of thousands of rounds of ammo with no previous issues.  I pride myself on safety and responsibility in my reloading so this was sort of humbling.

My son was right there and it actually made for a great show and tell to impress on him how important safety is, and how critical it is to recognize a squib for what it is before blowing up a gun (and possibly losing body parts).  I think he understood it better than he ever would have if I'd just explained it to him out of the blue, so I guess that's the silver lining.

Scored a free tank of Propane today.

You may ask, what the heck does that have to do with reloading?   I've got a 100 pounds of lead to smelt.

Today I fired up the lead pot and cast myself around 600  95 grain 380 bullets.  Debating if I want to powder coat these like all my other bullets I cast or just tumble lube them.

I then proceeded to load up 300  380 acp.  95 grain tumble lubed cast bullets over 2.9 grains of Bullseye with a COAL of .935".  My 380s seem to love this load.

Also started on hand sorting about 10 gallons worth of mixed range brass.  20 minutes in and I stopped.  I can't stand hand sorting, but I LOVE free brass.

I tested some .380 loads today.  It wasn't as much fun as I'd like, because the range was pretty much littered with various kinds of brass (a lot of it 9mm, dang it!), and it was a royal pain just trying to find my brass.  I posted in the "How Do YOU Mark Your Brass" thread in Precision Rifles on my frustration with this.  The loads ran well, and I'm fairly happy with one of them, enough so that I'm going to load up more of that load for further testing.  Or maybe not, since now I have something other than W231 to play with...

I also ran some fairly mild .45 ACP lead bullet loads through my son's pistol, and again, finding my brass was a pain.  My son's pistol still needs some breaking in, and the best way to do that is to shoot it, right? . I may have to tinker with his hammer spring, but otherwise it was fun shooting.

I don't get many days off during the week, which is about the only time I can get access to a "private" pistol range for load testing, so this was frustrating, to say the least.

In situations like you describe I lay out a tarp to catch mine. Indoor range I sweep up other brass first. Need to build a net to catch brass.

Yeah, hindsight and all that.  No tarp with me (and I'm not sure where I'd have put it - my .380 tosses brass WAY UP and a little to the right, and the range has these timbers overhead for shade, so of course all my brass hit those too).

But the catcher/tarp thing is a great idea if I can figure out where to put one or both.  It's way easier figuring out where a semi-auto rifle will throw brass than trying to figure out a pocket pistol's ejection.  I know, "first world problems" and all that.  Hey, I got to the range today!  Yay me!

Trimmed 400 LC 5.56 and 100 FC .223 this afternoon. Oh how I loathe trimming. I wanted to tumble and process some .45 ACP too but the trim work had me completely spent and pretty much burnt out.

Earleir this morning I went out shooting and found an odd one to find in the wild; one IMI .41 AE. Somewhere some guy is going for missing it. I left it there, hopefully he'll come back to shoot again and find it

Waged war this past week on mice getting in my shop/reload room
6 first night, 3 the next, then one. None trapped the last couple nights (worthless old cat!)

Shop-vac out (spent primers and walnut media mess too) then wiped it all down till finally, a clean room to work and play.

So I gathered up the fired 9mm and .380 brass I had laying here and there and put them in their proper containers
Eureka! Found that .45acp case I dropped the other day

Oh, and got my 300 124gr fmj's in the mail
I love replenishing the stash as much as I like taking from it

I did about 700 match wadcutter yesterday, fixing to put a few more together in a bit. Even on the 650 it is slow making match wadcutter as I don't bell the brass much and its a close fit with the soft swaged WC bullet. I spend the few extra seconds to make sure the bullet is started in the case before pulling the handle. I could try going a little faster but then the bullets start off cocked and seating will shave lead, not optimal for match ammo.

I think I learned something today.  I detailed my two 300 Blackout uppers today (versus the "wipe it down, run a patch through the barrel, and remove any crud" after-range cleanings I've done before), and there was a LOT of copper on the tails of both bolts.  The bolt in the 16" upper has what looks like a 1/32" thick (or more) "pad" of copper right under where the carrier shoots gas at it, while the 8" upper's bolt is just fairly uniformly "coppered".  It's very tightly bonded to the metal, and scraping with a dental pic was only modestly effective.  I used a "Scotch Bright" pad to get some of it off, but wound up leaving quite a bit on both bolts.

Is this a "pistol gas" thing, a 300 Blackout thing, or a hot load thing?  And if/when I start shooting heavy, cast lead bullets in these guns, will the bolt tails get "leaded"?

I assume any good de-coppering cleaner will get the stuff off, but I don't want to buy any new cleaners until I know more about this phenomenon.
