I did a little powder coating tonight as well. One batch of 124 grain 9mm bullets - about 200 or so.

Good old different manufacturers of shellholders got me again...
Full length sized a bunch of brass with a die I had pre-set the other day, using the wrong shellholder.... Discovered it today when the bolt was hard to close on a bolt action. Damn. Oh well, everything is a learning experience. |

Sorted out a grocery bag full of brass, 45, 40, 9 mm, 380, even some 32 and a few 25 auto cases. Primed a set of 45s to be reloaded with Nosler 185s and 231.
Pulled some Lapua 223 from the stash to load some test for my wifes new to her/used 223 1/7". I ran some test earlier this week and it likes XBR 8208 n the 23 to 23.5 gr range with Sierra and Nosler 77 and 80 gr bullets. 77 TMK is the best so far. |

I realized that I'd put together a lot of rounds lately, and that I couldn't remember when the last time I cleaned the "problem causer" spots was. So I did that.
I didn't quite take the case feed shuttle off (which is really a pain), but I took the V block off of it. I took off the shell plate, and tore down the primer feed, including the shuttle. I found some gunk and dust, and a bit of "used to be spilled powder grain" that had wound up under the shell plate, and I cleaned up the whole shebang with alcohol, paper towel, and some elbow grease. Then I whipped out the Johnson's Past Wax and waxed the sub plate under the case feed shuttle, the primer feed shuttle, and the whole shell plate area. While I was at it, I took off the case feed pivot and cleaned it and the pivot body it rides on, then waxed the top of the body and bottom of the pivot for nice, smooth operation. I found some gunk, possibly old grease, on the shoulder bolt the pivot...um...pivots on, so I cleaned that up really well and waxed it too. It all went back together extremely smoothly, which made me suspicious that I'd forgotten something. I checked the advance pawls for free movement and alignment, but it was all good. Then I found the "oops": I tightened the shell plate bolt down too well, so it dragged on one out of five cycles. Just backing the bolt out a little, without the lock washer looking that much less flat, made it all move extra smooth. Yes, I know that means that either my sub plate, my shell plate, or both are not quite perfect, but they work and I don't want to even envision what it would take to make both perfect. Tomorrow (I hope, anyway) I want to get back to my .40 S&W project. I have three more powders to load test rounds for... |

With all the "cleaning and neatening" I did around my press with cleaning it up, I managed to misplace one pair of reading glasses and my powder measure baffle... So I spent quite a bit of time NOT finding either one. I think the baffle may have slipped behind the bench - which is bad news because it's
The reading glasses? I probably stuck them in a pocket then wandered off and put them down somewhere, so no big deal. |

I'm starting to dislike my Dillon 550B. I keep running out of brass!
Today I sat for 45 minutes and loaded 200 rounds of .45, and that includes setup time. Yesterday, some Starline brass that I ordered showed up. 500 .38 special +P and 500 .45 ACP +P. 1,000 147 grain FMJ .308 pulls also came in. Today, the Ergo handle for the press showed up and got a workout. |

My awesome father gave me a box of new Norma 7mm Rem Mag brass which I had been wanting to try.
Stopped by a little gun shop on the way home from a work trip and they had 3lb. of RL-26 which is now mine. Should be set up for 300 Win Mag and 7mm for quite a while. |

Just finished powder coating a batch of 9mm 124 grain bullets. I'll probably size them a bit later.
I need to load up 2,000 or 3,000 rounds to keep my 9mm AR happy, but I ran out of finished bullets. Gonna be PC'ing for awhile. |

Decided I was going to load some .223 rounds, started by immediately dumping out a box of 253 55gr. bullets in my basement floor.
Then loaded 252 rounds with 25 grains of TAC. |

started my 762x39 brass trimming project again. Went gung ho and trimmed about 4 gallons previously then had 2 gallons left to go. So dug into it.
With the Giraud trimmer the 762x39 case doesn't stick out that much and my new spark plug plier wrench doesn't have much case to grip on. That leaves fingers. The rims on those cases will end up cutting your thumb. Ended up using a small strip of rubber to wrap around the case rim then grab the case with thumb and forefinger Then sized about 600 cases of 762x39. Need to delube them then trim them as well |

Ran a batch of 50 .45 loads on the Rock Chucker for a late birthday present for my father, then threw two of those into a bin because they didn't gauge right.
Prepped some more brass to make a larger run to feed the Kimber I picked up last week. I'll probably have to order more bullets in the near future. |

Haven't done any loading as I've been out in New Mexico shooting a match. While at the Whittington Center I did get to try out my 7.62 loads on the 1123 yard buffalo. I was hoping for minute of buffalo from these and was rewarded. I managed a 1st round hit, followed up with a solid 2nd round hit to prove the first wasn't a fluke. Several others present wanted to try the rifle and using my ammo 4 of the 6 people managed a 1st round hit and the other 2 rang steel on their 2nd round.
Next I'll have to see how they group on a 1,000 yard target. I'll work on ammo after I get home next week. |

Loaded 100 precision rounds for wife's 223, now I am icing my elbow. Not good.

|
Loaded 100 more .45s. Tumbled some more brass, then decapped a couple hundred .45 casings. Even got the wife to help me for a little while.
While decapping, I tried to separate the brass between large primer stuff and small primer stuff. I hate finding Speer brass, because they can't seem to make up their mind on what size primer they want to use. Oh well, I just throw the small primer stuff into a bag until I get enough to do a full run of it. |

Just picked up Lee .30-.30 dies. Dug up some of my brass, still gotta find more. Probably order the Dillon bits to make a press conversion tomorrow.
Dies $30. Dillon quick change and caliber conversion $190. I sure hope I find more brass. |

Tore down the loaded ammo I had picked up at the last fun show for super cheap.. Now going to organize the loading room, go through everything and set the stuff I do not want aside to list on the EE later (my yearly cleaning run)... So far I have come across a couple sets of duplicate die sets, don't know where they came from and found out I am GOOD on small pistol primers....

Re-welded my 22 tcm trim die the other day. So today I busted out the dremmel and ground down the weld enough to re-cut the threads on it so I could turn it into the tool head enough to reach the small cases.
Then, I set it up in the head and lock tighted it in. Have to lock tight it because the lock nut is on the bottom of the head instead of the top and doesn't hold very well. |

I finally had both time and energy after work, so I got at loading my .40 S&W test rounds. I have 3 of the 5 planned powders loaded, with a total of 110 rounds put together: 40 each for Unique and CFE Pistol, but TiteGroup's min-to-max range was so small I only did three different powder weights instead of four. I still have True Blue and AA#5 to load, but they'll wait, since my right elbow is giving me problems at the moment.
