I'm looking for a rifle powder with a flash retardant preferably. I know this exists, I just don't know what powders have it. Or otherwise, a powder with minimal flash would work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Gotta know what you are loading for first. Rifle, pistol, cartridge etc.

.mil powders have flash suppressant (WC844 for example).
Powder pulled from tracer rounds may not have it.

OK looking to load .223. Do you happen to know where I might get some of the military powders?
I've never bought it, so I'm not sure who else has it.

Possibly the easiest way to get the best performance while lowering flash would be getting a good flash suppressor, like a Blackout or Vortex.
Otherwise WC844 and WC846 are the only ones you usually see.

Try using the faster powders in whatever caliber you reload. They are more likely to burn completely before the bullet exits the barrel. Also, faster powder means less powder and the gas volume is directly proportional to weight of powder burned.

IMR8208XBR and CFE223 both have flash suppressant added to them...I mention them because those are the popular ones right now.

I still haven't seen a can of CFE223, and the shop I buy most of my supplies will have it at least as soon as anyone else.

eta, sorry forgot the close up.
CFE 223 is a ball powder, AR-comp same size as IMR-8208 XBR. Which means it measures great like IMR-8208 XBR.

Ramshot TAC and Accurate 2460 have anti-copper and flash retardants. Here's a recent response I got to a question asked to Western Powders:
Both these powders are typical 5.56 mm x 45 Nato powders and both have flash retardants.
The level of retardant might differ slightly.
These products also do have small amounts of anti copper additives.
As far as temperature stability both are made to MIL standards and pass the very strict limitations re temperature deviation.
So most people will not notice the difference for normal commercial/hunting/sporting use.
