Info please? Late response as I wanted to check with the guy before dropping his info. The scales are from LMF Knives by Joe Snarski. So far he is only on FB. He is also pretty busy and has paused new business for the rest of July to catch up. He is great to work with and I have no doubt that he probably could have had these done within a weekend if not for me going a little "custom" on him. We went back and forth talking about materials; which he usually works in linen micarta(OD, Coyote, Multicam types). I had a certain idea in mind. And basically went looking around and found what I felt would be ideal. He took pictures of anything I had questions about and worked through ever step of the process. As well as trying a few things out to see how this material handled. I wasn't in any rush, so it was fun to just go back forth. Which also shows that he is very understanding. I first saw his work on a youtuber's video(Black Owl Outdoors: ESEE 4 Modifications). Needless to say the palm swell fits the hands much better than the stock flat sided ESEE ones. But with my material choice they lost a little bit of traction. As they really need a bit of a polishing to get the right look. If either of us had a checkering file I probably would have tried to add some checkering and then a final polish to get some grip back. I might end up trying to do some slight file work myself if I feel it's necessary. |

My wife uses my knives in the kitchen for food prep because all of my knives are sharper than our cheap kitchen knives. I bought her a pink Izula in hopes that she will carry/ use it. I need to show her some basic self defense with the knife and I hope she will carry it at work. If she does not use it then I will. I would even keep it pink lol. I don't think anybody would be "OMG Knife" if it's a a pink one!

I have a variety of Kershaws - blurs, avalanches, etc. I usually have a firearm @ 4 0'clock. I desire a do-all fixed blade that I can carry horizontally on the belt. Camp/ranch duty, occasional field dressing. Help me decide and recommend a sheath as well. |

However, it comes with a black sheath and clip? Putting aside that a plastic sheath sucks vs the Kydex they offer on a the 4, 5 and Junglas. Finally, you can get it in the horrific and overdone zombie / venom green but not in OD? Seriously, Esee love the knives but WTF? |

3hm and AZWelke are as advertised. Quite nice.
The knife is flawless. It feels very small, but I think I'm just accustomed to big fixed blades. After lugging around an LMF 2, I barely notice the knife on my belt. The hm grip is indeed different. I haven't worked with the knife yet, so I can't really weigh in on the matter. I suspect it will be great for detail stuff and skinning. The sheath is mounted horizontally on the belt. Tec-Lock ftw. I opted for the pancake style. "More" knife might be awkward horizontally...at least up front. I had hoped for a slight upward angle, but couldn't make it work. Time to refresh myself on making lanyards. I'll try to get a couple pics, but I'm sure there are a number of pairings of my set already posted. |
