A member near me cleaned up the ~200 pieces of brass I had ready for cleaning. I think he has a Model B. The brass didn't come quite as clean inside and in the primer pockets as it would with something like 9mm, 223 or 308. He said a lot of the pellets ended up just sitting inside the brass. Is there a tumbler that works better? Should more than 5 pounds of media be used? Anything else to make sure they are cleaned better?

I use the Thumlers Tumbler Model B Hi-Speed for all my tumbling.
I use 7.5 pounds measure crudely to tumble 40 pieces of 50BMG brass per load.
I use cold water, Dawn soap, and a healthy dose of Lemi-Shine.

ALL of my 50BMG brass comes out looking better than new every time.

Same here. I use a 45 acp brass to measure the lemin shine though. 2 brass fulls works great and about double the amount for dawn. I have 10 lb ss pins which is probley down a pund or 2 after the years lol.  I half the amounts for normal brass. I find that to much lemin shine can make your brass pink and to much dawn is just that much longer to rinse. I aslo run it on a timer for 2 hours. But my stuff doesnt get to dirty. Good luck with it. You'll be amazed once ya do it
