With the election coming up I'm in a pre-panic mode as I never addressed ammo for my SCAR.  I do have a few boxes of old M60 ammo that shoots all over the place.  I have some hunting loads also.  I need about 3,000 rounds of go-to-war/SHTF 7.62.  I'm looking for an affordable load to stock pile and I'm also looking for some accurate rounds so I can test the capability of my rifle.

I'm thinking for accuracy the Federal GMM would be a good start.  I'm still searching for the defense loads.

Also, a while back someone started a thread about SCAR 17 ammo.  They just bought the rifle than went out and bought about 10 boxes of match ammo.  They did a great job of testing the various loads.  I can't find that post, do any of you recall seeing it?

Zq1 for the big stash. Handloads for precision.

PRVI 200rd battle packs are great to stock up on. ZQI is also good, but the prices for that seemed to have risen some. For precision I like 155 and 168gr TAP red box.

I just ordered 1,000 rounds of the Prvi 145 grain through SGAmmo.  Thanks for the help!

No problem. It's good cheap ammo for your scar! I bought several cases myself after zqi dried up online a few months ago.

SHTF ammo?

Federal MK319 was developed for the 13" SCAR. I have factory and reloads.

I have some factory (wish I had more) and will be loading up some rounds with the bullets I bought.  I would like at the Mk319 to have at least a few hundred on hand.

I still don't have my choice for an accuracy load nailed down.  Federal gold metal is a strong candidate.  It comes in both 175 and 168 grain.  Have any of you compared these two?  A quick check says its $25 a box but I can get it for around $20 online.

How is the Prvi for reloading, and is it steel with a copper jacket like the federal xm80?

If you dig around in here you can find my load for the MK 319 that was almost identical to the factory load and very accurate

My Hornady 150 gr FMJBT loads make 1.5 MOA and cost $350/k, precision loads are Nosler 168 gr HPBT that shoot .75 MOA and cost $450/k (single loaded with Varget and sorted LC brass).

The first is for practice, the second is for SHTF.
