I prefer a 50/200 zero

This but it depends on ammo you intend to shoot most often.

I zeroed my irons for the 25M/300 BZO in the SCAR Manual. I've shot it out to 200, but haven't tried 300 as I do not have access. Ironically, I love shooting it with iron sights. IIRC, I used Federal 150GR AE.

Ditto this.  With the PPU 145 gr ammo, my rifle will hold inside a 6" black circle target at 300 meters.  Better quality ammo shrinks those groups a little.

Do what the manual calls for in zeroing the irons and you will have a capable battle rifle zero.  Plus this way those BDC ranging marks on the rear sight actually work.  I have dialed the rear sight and made hits on steel at 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 meters respectively. The targets were full size IPSC steel.  Past 600 meters the targets get really hard to see.

I checked the manual. It's for both Scar 16/17. I believe it talked about 25/300 zero...

But it didn't specify which rifle... I'll give it a shot

Download this manual - SCAR Operator's Manual

Scroll to page 2-59 and beyond and you will obtain a much better understanding of the sights, how to BZO it, etc. There is a chart on page 2-68 which states at 25 Meters you will be 1" Low on your target when zeroed with M80 Ball.
