Does it hurt the value to do the front pin conversion on a SP1?  Would it be better just to use adapter if needed.  The gun was purchased for both use and investment (mostly fun!).

My personal opinion is that the conversion would improve value and resale.  That's why I did it to mine.

Have you ever fired a m16 full auto using one of those adapter pins? I've always preached how great the adapter pins are , and they can be in a semi.
The first time i used one full auto was the last time.(ok maybe 3 times) While i am sure you could tighten it  every mag, it just doesn't hold location very well in general.. Also it can cause light primer strikes.
It really screwed with the timing on my DIAS and i could only assume with a RR it would.

it's effect on value would be determined by the prospective buyers.IMO i'd say its neural to a bonus.
