I was thinking of buying one of the BCM 14.5" SOCOM barreled uppers for my RR Oly conversion.  Anyone had any experience running these?  I don't shoot often (or spank the gun much), but like the idea of some extra meat under the handguards for heat.  I have a Bushmaster 10.5" heavy barrel, and it is HEAVY. Does the SOCOM negatively impact the handling of the rifle?

Thanks!

There's a whole bunch of Army guys (self included) running around with them.

Does it negatively impact the handling?  It's heavier so it's going to, but IME it's not a big deal.
