Looking for some input on a decent but not expensive double barrel shotgun to Form 1 into a SBS?  Thinking of going the 20 gauge route considering the recoil of a 12 gauge and considering an old Stevens double barrel for the Mad Max look. Also, because this would be a trust Form 1 anyone know where I could get the receiver engraved with my trust info?  I have done two SBR AR's on Form 1's and have had no problem getting the engraving done but I'm assuming the engraving on a double barrel shotgun receiver would be harder to do. Any thoughts?

Most modern conversions I am seeing seem to be Stoeger.

Checked out their website and they look good. Any thoughts on Baikal or USSG double barrels?  They are a little bit cheaper but their reviews seem good.

Hey Tony...if you don't mind me asking what is the OAL of the double 20 gauge you have pictured and what is the barrel length?

Would a 12 gauge be unmanageable?

I went with a PD auction Stoeger Uplander I bought from gunbroker for $200.  I did the work myself on a Form 1, which wasn't hard.  The recoil is manageable and I like the versatility of 12ga loads.  I have no issues with it. Here is a video of me shooting slugs through it.

I got the receiver engraved at a local jewelry shop (Call first ).  Cost me $40.

If you Form 1 and cut the barrel down yourself what engraving needs to be done?

I guess I really need a Stoeger now thanks to you bastards

I also want a shorty pump like the SH or Serbu. Maybe my Tromix will clear soon although it's a little different beast. Not quite as classy as good sawed off

So I picked up last night a new in box Stoeger 20 gauge double barrel for $300 off GB  which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Is there a gap between the barrels on the stoegers when they cut it down? Or do they (palidin, sea,...) fill it? How do they fill it? I imagine silver solder or weld ruins the heat treat. What about the rib? Do you just cut where the rib is solid?

I did mine myself and there is a gap.  I just filled it with Silver Solder.
