What's the difference

I would like to AOW a shotgun I have.

Other than the travel requirements they are pretty similar. They cost the same to make as a individual so build the sbs and you can run it in any configuration you want.

Thx guys,

I like the 5 dollar stamp, but i'd rather be able to put a stock on it too. So i'll probably go the sbs route

No you don't.  The stamp for a form 1 is $200.




A form 4 AOW is $5.

Rifled slug barrels are still shotguns.  They don't really give an advantage unless you are using sabot slugs.

The GCA definition of "shotgun" is specific to smoothbore. Rifled slug barrels in Title I are commonly held as "sporting" because of their clear sporting use, despite the inconguity in the definiton.  In Title II, however, where "shotgun" still applies to smoothbbore only and all shotguns are non-sporting by definiton, a rifled slug barrel on a shotgun would transform it into a Destructive Device due to the rifled bore of over .50" in diameter.
