Does anyone know if the tube or lower is serialized on a Spitfire SMG?

I want to say that it is the combination of the tube and lower, but I can't remember why I think that. You might have to do some searching on the ATF site in the rulings.

Edit - Oops.  I thought you were asking which part is the MG.  I have no idea where the serial number is located.

Here's what I could find FWIW:

http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-20255.html

Also, some more info on Spitfires. The ATF has ruled that the "registered part" of the Spitfire MG is the lower with the serial number AND the steel upper tube (which has no markings). So they're treating a Spitfire as a combination of parts...

So if this is correct, the serial number is on the lower, and the two parts constitute the legal weapon.

Damn, I wanted to make a new lower that wasn't so goofy looking. Guess that project is dead.
