I don't really have full auto, but was gonna make a bump sacraficial upper to use w/ an AR for mag dumps w/ the slide fire stock.

Which is more fun in full auto? From a ca 8" barrel, maybe up to a 10.5"

545 is alreay in the lead cause it is ca 5 cents cheaper per round, but x39 could be somewhat useful from a short barrel, in terms of its terminal ballistics.

question to you all is whether whether 545 would be more fun b/c it is easier to control or x39 less fun b/c it is harder?

I think 7.62x39mm is more fun

I'd dare say the 7.62x39 would be easier to bump fire...
But....
Ammo is didt cheap right now for 5.45...

Depends on the rifle you're firing it from. A 7.62 full auto AK and a 5.45 full auto AK feel about the same to me - maybe a touch more recoil on the 7.62, but similar rate of fire and noise. A full auto 5.45 AR feels just about identical to a full auto 5.56 AR and sounds the same to me, too. I don't have a 7.62x39 AR to compare them to.

At $170/k for 5.45, it's hard to pass up.

IMO - 7.62 is easier to bumpfire with the Slidefire than 5.45. However I use a Wasr-10 with a donkey dong front grip and that may make it easier.

So if you are gonna bump it you gotta keep it light weight, 5.45 I mean.

5.45 >7.62x39 has to much muzzle rise.

got back from the range w/ my 8" 545 upper, build w/ a ballistic advantage barrel. Worked great. No stoppages. Plenty of recoil to operate the sldefire stock, more than I though.

It is harder to group than I though.

I weight 190lbs, 6'2" and a 30 rd mag dump would stand me up and make me step back when starting from a forward bias.

course, woulda been a littme more fun had .gov not banned 76n imports liek two days ago Basically, when this 6k rds is gone, it gone I guess as it would hardly be worth it to restock v 5.56 steel.
