Quoted: That looks awesome. View Quote Thanks! Once I saw his MPX can, I knew I had to talk to him. It has a 316 stainless outer tube with 17-4 stainless, shielded k-baffles. This should keep the fouling off the tube and offer me the option of stainless tumbling them down the road. Unfortunately, it seems most MP5SD cans seem to be either unshielded and/or have aluminum baffles. |

My SD silencer was approved 12/6, but the gun is still pending. I sent them together - aren't they normally approved together? When do I start worrying? In other news, my Sten cleared the Form 3 and I got to visit it in jail today. It's in absolutely beautiful shape. Form 4 is being sent tomorrow. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd519/generalpurpose87/Sten%202_zpswis1juqj.jpg View Quote Awesome! Congrats. That Sten looks factory fresh. |

Form 4 is being sent tomorrow. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd519/generalpurpose87/Sten%202_zpswis1juqj.jpg That's freakin sweet So 3lug and octane is your plan? Thanks guys! Details: Taylor Manufacturing Sten Mk.II, unsure of the birth date but it's a tube gun (i.e. 70's - 80's manufacture, not a C&R gun that's been through actual war. The C&R guns are worth more because of their history, but their build quality is...British war-time mass production. Stens have a cool history, developed from the Lanchester and later becoming the Sterling. Open bolt, $7 magazines, parts are cheap and plentiful. Very simple, cycles very smoothly because the bolt doesn't bottom out on a buffer. Barrel can be removed by hand in seconds. Cool gun, especially in the context of the frozen machine gun market. My plans: Short 3-lug barrel with the lugs flush with the handguard. Octane .45 that will hold up to the abuse, since I have an Omega 9K on the way for my MP5K. Long-term, I'm going to have a silencer made for it that will use the barrel nut as the rear cap, and have a barrel ported like an MP5SD if possible (and I'm pretty sure it is). That way I can use cheap 115 grain in the SD and the Sten. Collegeboy (MachinegunMike) has two great YouTube videos on his Sten, which got me interested in the gun to begin with. Those are both well worth watching, he said it's in his top three of all the machine guns he owns, which was a pretty resounding endorsement for me. |

I'm finally getting around to filling out my form 1 on my TPM MP5SD. I wanted to ask what length of barrel and overall length did you guys use?
Searching online I'm finding 5.7" barrel and an overall length of 26.5" for a MP5SDA3 collapsed, but this includes the suppressor, not sure if I should include the suppressor length or not. |

Just talked to Matt, and they've received my silencer stamp but not the SBR stamp yet. At this point I'm just glad to know the ATF actually mailed the silencer stamp.
