Found a pawn store with one in stock. Priced fairly reasonable I think, just under $600. I have heard they are not really for semi auto fire, more for slow bolt action fire. Looks like it wouldn't work on my 10.5" SBR with it.

Or would I be better off getting the Omega or something similar for a bit more?

BW posted a SS/silencerco video a week or so ago dispelling the rapid fire myth.

That said, $600 can get you a much better suited suppressor.
AAC 556SD
specwar or specwar k
Grunt
Recce 5 mod 3
Sig SRD556

Trek
Maybe an M42k

$600 can get you a SpecWar 7.62 from Capitol Armory through the end of the month.

Min barrel length for the Harvester is 16" on 5.56.

Really think through what you want to do with it, what calibers you want to suppress, etc.  If you want QD, think about what mounting system you want as well as weight, sound reduction, length, materials, QD, direct thread and such.  The ones all posted above are great choices.

I like the Specwar 556 and am waiting on a Trek.  Read through the threads here and check seller websites for options.

...and if you have a code, it'll knock another $50 off it.

The SiCo rep told me - 10 rounds per minute on the Harvester - you can fire all 10 quickly, but then have to wait to do it again.

The harvester is a good hunting can - light weight, and descent suppression on hunting length barrels. If you want to do more rounds/minute or use a short barrel, there are better cans.

I have the SpecWar 7.62 and like it a lot, I also have a Trek for a dedicated can, but have not played with it on the range yet.

Good luck,
Bob S.

edit to add - Gemtech Trek for $295....

Even I'm tempted at that price.

Excellent can for hunting and precision. Not for rapid fire though.

Great can but not for what you want.

$600 could almost get you a 5.56 Phantom and a Warlock...

Quiet Riot - $199 Warlock
Mission Critical - $289 YHM 3100 Phantom

throw in $100 for transfer fees - it's definitely doable.

Not sure they have changed ratings but it was a 20rd 308 or 30rd 5.56 dump followed by a full cool down.

Maybe an ideal hunting rifle or precision rifle setup but not suited for carbine use.  Buy something more suited as recommended.

Yeah, 10 rounds per minute is what was told to people at the last SHOT show.  Like I tell my kids, just because it's shown on Youtube doesn't mean you should do it too.

Flame away but I have a masterpiece arms serviceable 308 can from quiet riot. Rated for 11.5 and longer 308, and any length 5.56 or 300blk. Say what you want, it a great can and is just as quiet as most double its price. 650 with a stamp helps out too.
