Anyone get to see/shoot these at SHOT, or have any other info other than the basic stuff that's on the new products for 2015 Surefire video?

I did see that video when you put it up last year, thanks for that. Just didn't know if it is gonna be closer to the 556 cans or 30 cal cans in price, and how it meters etc.
I have a 762RC that I really like, but 300blk through it seems like it's weak spot. Not sure if I would spring for a dedicated 300blk can just yet, but trying to find details about it, other than it's coming soon.. |

I am hoping this 300 can is the answer for the BLK but it had better be a game changer for a one trick pony so to speak. Really interested to hear how it stacks up against the 762RC and how it performs with other cartridges as well. |

I forgot to ask at Shot Show. |

Here are some of the specs on the SOCOM300-SPS. 120 dB 10" barrel 208 gr AMAX. $1075.00 MSRP. SS with a Inconel blast baffle and a new baffle design. Rated up to 300 WM. 132 dB 24" barrel 175 gr SMKHP.

Nice specs so far! Any idea on estimated release date? When can I hit "Purchase" through SilencerShop?
Using existing 762-MB QD Brakes I hope? Also, do you have a measurement of what the same readings are on the SOCOM 762-RC? |
|
Well effin great... I bought a 762rc a month ago for my Johnny.. Guess I'll just have to put this on the scar and buy a more specific suppresor for the 300blk
|

|
I understand that the 300 BLK can hasn't been introduced yet.
My question is this: What advantage would the Surefire 300 BLK can have over the 7.62 RC SOCOM have in suppressing 300 BLK? I would think a longer can (7.62 SOCOM) would have an extra baffle and therefore be more quiet. |
|
I'm assuming the 300blk can is based on the lower pressures of that round, rather than higher pressures of .308, 300 win mag etc. I'm no engineer, so not sure how all that works, but they must have done something significant to tailor it to that round. Otherwise why make it?

However, when I compare it with my let full size cans and full power loads they sound the same. |

Right? -______- shot show always screws up my end of year purchases

Have size/weight specs been posted anywhere yet for this new Surefire 300 BO can?
I already have a Socom 7.62 RC, but would love to get this can for my 300 BO SBR's if it will do a better job suppressing. Also thinking it could pull double duty on a 5.56 SBR if short/light enough. |
|
Surefire never does anything quickly. We saw the X400G at two different SHOT shows before they started shipping. I wouldn't get your hopes up about anything they make until you see it on dealer shelves.

We are machining the baffles for the Genesis 762 and SOCOM300-SPS. I expect dealer transfers to take place end of March beginning of April timeframe.

Size and weight are on sf'a 2015 catalog
Size was 8 inches, don't remember the weight - 17 oz or more I believe I'm disappointed with the size of it. Most 300 BO that are going to use this are SBR, and this can is bigger than anything Sf makes except the 762 full size. Also, their own catalog claims the 762 mini is "optmiazed for the 7.62x35", or whatever the metric size of the .300 bo is. Yet, it apparently sounds very loud, this this dedicated .300 Bo can. I may not have bought a mini if I knew it would sound so poor with a .300. Street price needs to be compreable to the SilCo Omega, or it will have little sales. |

The SOCOM300-SPS was originally designed for 300 BO but we have got this suppressor and the Genesis to far exceed what we hoped for. It does a lot more than kick ass with 300 BO
300 BO 10" 208 AMAX 120dB 5.56 Mk262 133dB .308 24" 175 SMK 129 dB 300 Win Mag 18" Mk248 137dB |

Thanks Kudu22 for the updates.
So the Ryder 9mm is second quarter release also? Are you guys still making legacy flash hiders for the 212's? Brakes? |
|
Want to bump this for info again to see if the transfers have started and when we might expect to be able to purchase them from SS, etc. It looks like the Ryder is available already.
|
|
Definitely looking forward to this being available.
Sounds like this might work well for my purposes - dual use BLK and .308 bolt gun can. |
|
|
The SOCOM300-SPS is on there as well. I'm hoping Garin will have some more release date information for us soon :) My bank account can't hold onto the Surefire money much longer!

The Omega quieter at 119db isn't so not a game changer. View Quote Yeah, I seriously have never understood why people like Surefire so much. Silencerco and AAC make really good products which seem to be much less expensive. I have yet to see anything that is significantly better that justifies the expense.....maybe I'm wrong but my sdn-6 sounds better(to my ears). |
|
I don't have anything against other companies, I just think that people look way into some of the other details regarding any companies cans... Be it Surefire, AAC, or any of the others, then the opinions just come out and the rest is rinse and repeat.
If you like it, and it works for you, then it may very well be the right purchase. I picked up a Socom 556rc and it exceeds my expectations for what I wanted, and has held up quite well |

in the past people didn't buy Surefire based on noise reduction properties alone. If you don't understand why then read the reviews and comparisons. If you still do not understand then be happy with your Kia as it gets better gas mileage then a more expensive German counterpart.
Now with this new suppressor they will no doubt grab a larger share of the market if the other aspects that made Surefire suppressors remain the same. |

8" and 20.3 oz with an MSRP of $1,075. So..... Like what the SDN-6 was 3 years ago? Cool. Fair point. In my mind I was comparing it to the other .30 cal SF can at an MSRP of $1,800. It's also an encouraging data point on a company whose silencer pricing has always been off market. |

If a suppressor is the same size, weight, and doesn't fall off the mount or explode while sounding the same as its competitors, then why spend more? Now that it's announced, wondering approximately when I can place my order on SilencerShop? :) Any news on expected dealer transfers?

This is why I purchased my Surefire, back in 2009, for my AR. 5.56 is going to be loud, not like the AAC can is going to be making it dramatically lower than my Surefire. |

So from what I understand... it does everything better than the SOCOM 762RC even for .308? Is it going to replace that can then?

When will silencer companies get with the program and not market something so heavily before the first one is ready to ship? They feel so compelled to have the latest and greatest at SHOT and then take 6+ months to get it to market. Magpul, S&W, and Ruger seem to have it mostly figured out. This isn't rocket science. |
