First firearm I ever bought was a Ruger 10/22 with a blue finish and the wooden stock. It was my 18th birthday present to myself on 12/27/2006. I still have and enjoy if to this day and doubt I will ever sell it.

In 1995 I bought a Ruger Super Redhawk SS 44 magnum with a 9.5" barrel. I was 16 so dad did the papers and held it till I was 21. I wanted the most powerful handgun with the longest barrel I could get. Lost interest in hunting and it just sat in my safe till last fall when I sold it and used the money for Another black rifle and some ammo. Paid $480 and sold it for $725 with a couple holsters and a box of ammo.

First was a Mini-14 I bought in '83 or '84, in upstate NY, no less (this was long before NY became rabidly anti-2A). Oldest gun that I still have is my HK91 bought in '85.

Cant post a pic, got stolen in 1991. Taurus model 66 .357 that I bought as a security guard from my company then went through the Police Academy with it. Still gone and never recovered.

P228 in 1996 I think, with 3 10 round magazines. Box of 50 rounds of 9mm was just under 7 bucks.

First gun I purchased and paid for myself was a Kimber Series 1 1911 Stainless Classic. I bought it on my 21st birthday. I already had several guns but this was the first I filled out paperwork for and bought myself. That was 19 years ago but I still have it and it shoots like a dream!

Springfield XD 9. Thing shot great but collected dust after I moved on to other pistols. Sold it within the family, so I'm glad it's still being put to good use.

It was either an all-matching Russian SKS with blade bayonet for a stupid low price like $150 or an Argentinian FM Hi-Power.

Winchester 1400 12ga 28"
Eventually traded for a nice old Remington 870, which I guess I then sold but don't remember. Second gun bought was an early Springfield Armory 1911 (Before the GI / Mil Spec / Etc designations) that is fantastic and I'll never get rid of. |

Mini-14 Ranch Rifle.
I still have it, not sure why. Second was an AKM clone (SSR85C) Third was FAL (DSA STG-58 build) Fourth was M1 Rifle (secondhand from CMP purchaser, H&R) After that it gets kind of blurry. |

Mi first was either a Stevens double barrel, or a Ruger 10/22. I can't remember which.

Remington 742 in .308, bought at age 15 with money from my first job. 1979. Still my go-to deer rifle.

S&W 686 combat special in 357 magnum. Was after a python I found back in 83. Went to the bank to get the funds, came back and this hot chick was laying down the cash on the python. Was pissed. Tried to offer her an extra hundred bucks to buy it from her. No way. Couldn't order the python so looked at the S&W. Brought it home. Regret selling it.

1973 a Ruger SBH w/brass grip frame for $75.00. I still have it.

Everybody can remember their first gun. How many guys can remember EVERY gun they've owned? I know I couldn't. I've bought and sold so many guns over the years I've forgotten most of them. If you remember every gun you've bought -- or if you still own every gun you've bought -- you're not buying enough guns.

Mosin Nagant M44. Still have it. Paid $49.99 for it at a local Dunham's. Wanted a 91/30 they were selling for $59.99, but they were out. Wish I could go back in time with some cash and buy several. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/303065/Mosin-Nagant-M-44-cropped-176906.JPG View Quote |

Ruger P94 back in '95, IIRC. Hated the trigger and the slide mounted safety, so I traded for a Colt 1991A1.
Wish I still had the Colt, but I have been thinking of getting a 1911 again just for shits and giggles. Stainless frame and blued slide would be the tits, with either checkered rosewood or micarta grips. Maybe even in 10mm, just because I can. |
