First firearm I ever bought was a Ruger 10/22 with a blue finish and the wooden stock. It was my 18th birthday present to myself on 12/27/2006.  I still have and enjoy if to this day and doubt I will ever sell it.

In 1995 I bought a Ruger Super Redhawk  SS 44 magnum with a 9.5" barrel.  I was 16 so dad did the papers and held it till I was 21.  I wanted the most powerful handgun with the longest barrel I could get.  Lost interest in hunting and it just sat in my safe till last fall when I sold it and used the money for Another black rifle and some ammo.  Paid $480 and sold it for $725 with a couple holsters and a box of ammo.

First was a Mini-14 I bought in '83 or '84, in upstate NY, no less (this was long before NY became rabidly anti-2A).  Oldest gun that I still have is my HK91 bought in '85.

P228 in 1996 I think, with 3 10 round magazines.  Box of 50 rounds of 9mm was just under 7 bucks.

First gun I bought with my own cash was my Beretta M9 Commercial

(Shown with my OKC M9 bayonet, because yo dawg, we herd you like M9s... )

Still running strong after all these years, still in use, still my favorite pistol. Some of the best $600 I ever spent. Very accurate, and aside from a couple FTFs when I was first learning to shoot due to limpwristing it, it still has not had its first malfunction. You can't kill that thing.

Browning ATD built 1971, high school graduation present to myself 1974. 1 of 150 built in this configuration, $150.00. That was a lot of money for a kid making 2.50 per hour on a summer job !

They were all Belgian made back then. 150 were built for the Browning Distributor in Baytown, Texas. It is 22 LR but has the longer barrel of the 22 short and is marked .22 Long Rifle. It is a tack driver. I've never seen another, I suspect they are all around Baytown. I have a Browning letter on it. It only says that 25 were shipped in 1971. Nothing else noted. I know I bought it new in the summer of 1974.

It'd be nice to have one again.

Winchester 1400 12ga 28"

Eventually traded for a nice old Remington 870, which I guess I then sold but don't remember.

Second gun bought was an early Springfield Armory 1911 (Before the GI / Mil Spec / Etc designations) that is fantastic and I'll never get rid of.

Ruger LCP, bought in 2012, my wife wanted to try churches chicken, the nearest was 30min away, we drive there, order at the drive through and while waiting with the windows down since the weather was nice some shady black guy just stuck his head in the rear window where my son and 3 month old daughter were.
Worse I saw this coming but was blocked by vehicles front and rear of me.

I very lousy asked wtf are you doing!? As I was unarmed. He mumered something and left but the next day I went and bought the LCP and submitted the paperwork to get my GA weapons license. Carried every day sense. Though now it's a G30s.

In that moment of unknown intent, I was afraid for my children for the first time. I swore I wouldn't leave myself vulnerable like that again.

S&W 686 combat special in 357 magnum. Was after a python I found back in 83. Went to the bank to get the funds, came back and this hot chick was laying down the cash on the python. Was pissed. Tried to offer her an extra hundred bucks to buy it from her. No way. Couldn't order the python so looked at the S&W. Brought it home. Regret selling it.

Everybody can remember their first gun. How many guys can remember EVERY gun they've owned? I know I couldn't. I've bought and sold so many guns over the years I've forgotten most of them. If you remember every gun you've bought -- or if you still own every gun you've bought -- you're not buying enough guns.

Wanted a 91/30 they were selling for $59.99, but they were out.
Wish I could go back in time with some cash and buy several.

Ruger P94 back in '95, IIRC. Hated the trigger and the slide mounted safety, so I traded for a Colt 1991A1.
Wish I still had the Colt, but I have been thinking of getting a 1911 again just for shits and giggles. Stainless frame and blued slide would be the tits, with either checkered rosewood or micarta grips. Maybe even in 10mm, just because I can.
