Bolt guns are what got me into centerfire rifles so I would probably say the Remington 700, Ruger 77 and then the CZ 527.

This is not in any particular order. Ask me tomorrow and I might change my mind! 1. HK33 and clones. I have a C93. It's got the same ergonomic quirks as other HK roller delayed rifles but the accuracy and recoil impulse are excellent. It's just a joy to shoot. 2. Sig 551. I had the opportunity to fire a post-sample 551 belonging to a buddy of mine. In three shot burst mode, it was basically rifle nirvana. Again, great accuracy and wonderful recoil control. Smooth as butter. And no ergonomic quirks like the HK. 3. M1 Rifle (Garand). Because PING. 4. Swiss straight-pull bolt action rifles. Of the examples I own I like the 1911 Long Rifle the best. Stellar accuracy, great triggers. 5. AK74. Lightweight and quick handling, little recoil, and surprisingly decent accuracy for an AK. View Quote I agree with most everything posted. My K-31 needs to fit in the list. |

M1A..... Love mine...
10/22.... no end to the upgrades available.... adding a decent barrel can easily improve the accuracy. Ruger No. 1 ..... the only way I could ever get to own a rifle in .458 Lott. AK / SKS..... your choice of caliber, just a darn good design.... and those mags, talk about robust. Winchester 1886 45/70.... an incredibly versatile rifle and cartridge. |

The top 5 are all AR15's and AR10's.
But as for the sloppy seconds way down the list, experience with them or not.... SCAR ACR Probably like the CZ Bren 06's or Pole MSBS. Just anything that has the modern standard features and is of great quality. The AK is somewhere way down on the list. I own way too many of them, and experience with them is the reason I'm so turned off by them. |

K&M M17 - got it, light and fun.
FG-42 - wanted ever since I saw one in one of the old Call of Duty games. First I checked to see if it was real, then to see if they sold them. Henry Lever .22 - tackdriver. Slow to load, but a lot of fun to shoot. M1 Carbine - light and handy. Winchester Model 1907 - the .351 WSL appeals to me strangely. |
