Let's hear them boys
1. AK's (mainly from a building aspect)
2. M1 Garand 3. FAL 4. Robinson XCR 5. Benelli M4 |
1. M1 Garand
2. 1903 Springfield 3. M14 4. Lee Enfield SMG 5. Springfield 1861 |
In no particular order:
Ruger 10/22; Marlin 39A; Remington 700; Winchester 69A and Remington Model 12. Honorable mention to AKs and Marlin 60s. I realize the .22s are overly represented. |
Suppose I should have listed mine
10/22 Henry Lever Action 22 Century Arms AK74 M1A Savage 111 .308 |
AK
Pre-64 style action on a Winchester Model 70 All I have need for. |
1) FN FAL
2) MAS Mle. 49 3) MAS Mle. 49/56 4) Robinson Arms XCR 5) MAS Mle. 36 |
1- AK and/or VZ2008 (cheap, reliable rifle that shoots cheap easy to get ammo)
2 - HK91 / G3 (Uber accurate & the roller system is awesome) 3 - M1 Garand (semi auto 30-06 that won the big war, what's not to like?) 4 - Winchester mod. 94 lever action (light, simple, the rifle that tamed the west) 5 - K98 mauser 8mm (OK, maybe this is the rifle the LOST the big war but when I was younger these things were cheap & plentiful, as was surplus ammo.) Honorable mention goes to the Mosin Nagants & SKSs. Again, good battle proven designs that run on cheap ammo. Just wish they were as cheap as they were from 10 years ago. And, although I never owned one, one of the weirdest/coolest guns I've shot was a Steyer AUG A3. |
Like the others said in no order
AK47 Tavor M1A or maybe the Garand but I think I prefer the M1A Lee Enfield No.4Mk1 K98 |
Not in order but all suppressed:
SCAR 16/17 Tavor 805 Bren Rem 700 M11-Nine Lage MK2-K SMG |
In no particular order:
Sako Finwolf Winchester model 70 Barrett 82A1 MSAR STG-556 Browning BLR 81 |
no particular order
Scar 17 Sig 551-2 Sig/Blaser Tactical 2 IWI Tavor Sako TRG 42 |
1: Scar 17 Suppressed
2: CZ 805 Bren Suppressed
3: B&T APC9 Suppressed 4: Marlin 1894 44mag Suppressed 5: Uberti 1873 357 |
As above, in no special order
SCAR16 & 17 FN-FAL FS2000 Sig556 DeawooK2 |
1 - AK-74 variants
2 - M1 carbine 3 - Steyr AUG 4 - Sig 556R 5 - M1 Garand The Scorpion Evo and Bushmaster ACR have the potential to bump something (the Sig and Steyr most likely) off the list, haven't fired them yet but I really like how they handle. ARX is close, but it isn't quite as accurate as I'd like it to be. The small-bore AK has always been my favorite though. |
1. VZ58
2. M14
3. AK's 4. Galil (I know it's an AK, but it's just so much better, deserves it's own spot). 5. MAS 49 and variants (49/56 & MSE) Honorable mention: AR180 variants and Daewoo K2 |
Wait... They make more rifles than just ars?
Bolt action rifle in 308 (something like a 700) 10/22 Evo SBR AK Mosins(big fire ball) |
M14
M1 Garand Small frame ( .223 and smaller ) H&K 93-series and MP series. Springfield 03A3 Original Costa Mesa or Howa ( in that order ) AR-180 |

- early/authentic Winchester lever-guns
- early/authentic Winchester semi-autos - early/authentic Springfield trap-doors - early/authentic Colt Lightning - DGR's (Dangerous Game Rifles) |
This is not in any particular order. Ask me tomorrow and I might change my mind!
1. HK33 and clones. I have a C93. It's got the same ergonomic quirks as other HK roller delayed rifles but the accuracy and recoil impulse are excellent. It's just a joy to shoot. 2. Sig 551. I had the opportunity to fire a post-sample 551 belonging to a buddy of mine. In three shot burst mode, it was basically rifle nirvana. Again, great accuracy and wonderful recoil control. Smooth as butter. And no ergonomic quirks like the HK. 3. M1 Rifle (Garand). Because PING. 4. Swiss straight-pull bolt action rifles. Of the examples I own I like the 1911 Long Rifle the best. Stellar accuracy, great triggers. 5. AK74. Lightweight and quick handling, little recoil, and surprisingly decent accuracy for an AK. |
1. Steyr Aug
2. FAL
3. MAS 49/56 4. No. 4 Enfield 5. Yugo M59/66 SKS |
In no particular order:
Swiss K31 SCAR Dragunov Kalashnikov Savage 1899 |
1) Ruger 10/22
2) Romanian PSL 3) Tigr/SVD/NDM 4) Yugo M76 5) Vepr 7.62x54R Honorable mention: SCAR 17S I like the big com bloc rifles. I have a 10/22 and PSL. I really like the rest. |
As of right now my 5 favorite non-AR rifles would be:
M1 Garand Mauser 98k Ruger 10/22 Ruger Gunsite Scout Ruger American rimfire |
AK 74/47
G3 pattern rifles Mosin Nagant (variety of flavors) that's all I have for now but would love to get some range time with a scar, garand, m1a, FAL, 03A3, enfield, kar98k etc. |
M1 Garand (uber alles)
1903A3 Swiss K31 Enfield No1 MKIII Russian M44 (I mean, come on. It's a rifle, a spear and a club) |
HK 41/91
SIG 551/553 (Swiss ones) Steyr AUG Kimber 82 and all Oregon made Kimbers Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles Honourable Mention: Sig K31 (the best of the bolt battle rifles IMHO) and my G33/40 |
