I'm looking for a barebones workhorse shotty, I used to sell these when I worked at Walmart 15 years ago for $109 all day long.

I've gotten the itch for a single shot break open but can't find anything in the stores for a similar price.

I've seen some for $239 or so from h&r but for the price I might as well get a mossberg 500 or Remington 870

I do believe your last sentence answers your thread title question.

Pawn shops around this area are loaded with them with a $75 - 150 tag.

I agree that pawnshops and maybe Gunbroker would be your best bet.

I got a SS and a SxS from my aunt a couple years ago. The SS is one of the myriad that were made in the early years of the 20th century. Marked TRIUMPH with a 30in 12 ga barrel.

I'm kinda glad they're so hard to find around here, otherwise I'd have one in .357mag, .30-30, etc.
As it is, the .45-70 I have will do.

There's thousands, perhaps millions, of used ones floating around.  The market for a new one is be pretty limited.
