Anyone want to show off what they shoot at?

obviously not in my backyard, unlike some of you

5/8" rebar bent and cut/welded. 6" AR500 circle. I can hang two from this stand.

Me and a few friends got a good deal on some 12" AR500 gongs and I made these stands for them.

Finished this up this past weekend, plates are 3/8" thick 6" AR500. Still needs to be blasted and painted. Longest piece is 40", "arms" are 24" long.

Going to shoot at it Thursday!

12" round targets; 10"x 17" rectangle AR500 3/8"

18" x 27" AR500 1/2"

3 1/2" x 4" AR??? 1/2"  and yes........... I have hit this at 500 yards!!!!!!  The round thing below it is a fly wheel out of a Duramax

The ones hanging double are 3/16" for 22lr only. They are set at 50 yards. The single behind it is at 100 yards and it's a 22lr only, mild steel. the one behind it is 1" mild and it's 200 plus yards only for anything over a 22lr or pistol.

Half size silhouette I welded up from some scrap in the shot. Just plain old mild steel but they work great for 100 yard Glock targets.

Damn I guess I will have to get my camera out. I shoot at reactive 3/8" Hardox 450. Works like a charm!

Was out having a little fun tonight with the NVGs. So a few more shots of some of my other steel.

Here are some of my targets, everything is waterjet cut AR500.

The hangers on the gongs are UHMW. This stuff works great, no more broken chains or false hits called.

I picked up 3 new AR500 targets yesterday. They are 36" tall by 18" by 1/2" thick and shaped very similar to a B27 target. They weigh about 50 pounds each also. They did not come with holes in them to attach hangers. I tired drilling them on my huge drill press and only succeeded in destroying all my big drill bits!!! So..... I am going to hang them by their "heads" with chain. I have tons of this old chain so if I happen to shoot through a chain then I can just replace it. I'll hace pics up later................................

We run a similar setup with the rebar, very convenient because it breaks down into small components, easy to travel with.  We run several different size plates of AR500; 10x10's, up to 24x24'.  Many of the plates are 3/8" thick but the larger plates are 1/4"...no reason for 3/8 when running them out at distance.

I have also added a few diamonds into the mix.  They are hard to hit...if elevation and windage are not damn close to precise, you'll miss them everytime.

We have found that using the larger plates is awesome for practice (we predominantly shoot long range/precision rifle).  Painting them all white allows for great feedback when they are 700-1200 yards out...you can see the impact, make adjustments, and send it again, with the hopes that that shot is more "bullseye" than the prior.

My new ones................
They were heavy so I had to winch them up so I could bolt the chains.....see my attempt to drill a hole, LOL!! it didn't work hehehehe left shoulder area has a dimple that is where I destroyed all my drill bits! I tried a pilot hole, that didn't work, I tried a big bit, that didn't work, and I was using my drill press!

500 yards.......................

400 yards with the 500 yard targets behind...........................

300 yards....................................

300 yards through the spotting scope...................

I'll find someone with a plazma cutter to cut holes in them. For now I'll hand them and stay away from head and neck shots. I have tons of that chain so if I cut a chain I can just get another piece and hang them back up..................

I used to hang my steel with chains too...I bought the biggest, most durable chains that Lowe's had thinking it would be okay if it got hit.  Of course, first day out...damn target is downrange dangling from one side, of course I hit the chain.  Couldn't even take a 140gr VLD going 2950 ;)

Obviously, once you get some holes poked, you'll be able to use other materials for hanging.  I've found the cheap, rubber tarp straps with the "S" hooks are the best for the targets that are 12"x12" and under. The heavier guys get ratchet straps.  You can grab them at Harbor Freight for about 3.00.

I think I found some more steel plates for my range!! I think there are 4 of them, 3 will be 18"x36" and one will be 36"x36" square. All of them will be 1/2" AR500 and will have holes bored into them so they can be hung............................. pictures coming soon!!!

I don't have my new ones yet but I did set one out at 550 yards yesterday......................

Built myself a few more targets.

Flash targets for 300, 400, and 500 yards (12", 16", and 20")

6" X 6" square self resetting popper

Mini zombie head self resetting popper. Because, really, who doesn't like head shooting tiny zombies.

Look what followed me home today!!!

The big one is 31"x 35" and the little one is 18" x 36"
I will have to use my winch to get those hung!!

Next day....................... I tried to paint the smaller one last night and at 10 degrees I discovered spray paint doesn't work very well. I painted them silver first then went back and used white paint today. I guess the silver paint froze because when I hit it with the white paint the silver paint just ran off!! LOL So, tomorrow I'll put the cup brush on the grinder and knock off all the silver and start over. I'll post a picture of this one when I am finished. I am making this one look like a USPSA target.

I have these about ready to put up.
This one will be hung up at 550 yards:

This one will get a coat of white paint over the black and then a red circle in the center and will go out to the 800 yard spot:

I'll have steel at 300, 400, 450, 500. 550 and 800 yards now!!

I made these target bases years ago to hold pre cut press board and staple paper targets to them.

Then after I got my cnc plasma table for work i created different ways to mount steel targets.

I got another one set up at my 550 yard target site................

Now I can shoot several groups on targets before having to ride out to paint them.

Well, I finally got my 800 yard target set up. The ground thawed out enough that I could drive some steel posts into the ground. This target is 31" x 35" and is 1/2" thick AR500. I used the winch on my 4 wheeler to hoist it up to attach the chains and had to stand on the 4 wheeler to keep it on the ground while it pulled it up. I'm going to paint a red circle in the center when I get ready to shoot at it. I've shot steel at 800 yards with my 308 but with a different scope. I'm hoping my new SWFA will make this a lot easier to do.

I got home today with enough time to play on my range a bit. I got a 4" red circle painted into the center of my 800 yard target. This picture is taken looking through my SWFA SS 20X FFP scope. According to Google Earth ruler this is 792 yards from scope to target. The target is 35" wide X 31" tall. The red circle is 4" in diameter. I took this picture through my scope with my cell phone then I zoomed in on the picture and saved it:

This is the picture before zoom:

These are my portable targets. The round one is 12". The rectangle is 10" x 17".

I raised my 800 yard target a little higher today. This will be better when the grass starts growing.

This thing is pretty heavy so I had to use my winch to get it up to hang it from the stand.
