who makes the smallest, lightest centerfire rifle in 223, 243, and 308?

I wish I had bought one of those "mini mausers" when they were on the market about 25 years ago....

anyway, looking for options and if anything is similar on the market these days...

Do you want custom? Price point? Brand name you prefer?

I like Tikka Lightweight Stainless and have a Ruger Lightweight Stainless.

I have a New Ultra Light Arms in .22lr, but its a custom.

CZ 527 carbine, in .223 and 7.62x39, is pretty small and handy. Unfortunately the .223 version has a 1:10 twist rate which is not ideal for heavier 70gr+ bullets, but handles the lighter 55 very well, and maybe 62.

I have one of the Zastava mini-Mausers in the form of a Remington 799 (Zastava barreled action, Remy stock).  A very handy and lightweight little rifle that carries great in the woods.

Mini mauser is scaled down around 5.56 class of cartridges. Mossberg MVP 5.56 is too. At 6.18 and 6.06 pounds respectively both are light..

It's been a long time since I handled a Savage Axis and Ruger American, I'm having trouble remembering if the .223 models are scaled to fit the 5.56 class or cartridges or not.

The Savage model 25 is most definitely scaled but weighs a tad more than Mauser or MVP IIRC.

For .243 .308 class cartridges I'd look for a Savage Lightweight hunter , a Remington model 7 or a Ruger Frontier.
