Just got a Browning A5 16 gauge that was my wife's grandfathers that just passed away. Her mom said they had a couple of guns to give us that were his and one didn't work I'm guessing this is the one, lol. I'm sure it can be fixed easily but I don't want to screw it up, I have little experience with these guns...The forearm is off of the rifle and the bolt won't cycle. I've looked up disassembly instructions and it says to have the bolt locked back before taking off the forearm. Anyway if anyone has any help it would be appreciated!

Thanks

Don't force it! Take it to a gun shop or show & someone will help you with the problem. Some parts on the A5 can be broken with not too much effort.

Any idea what year it is?

The barrel reciprocates.  Place the butt on the floor and grab the barrel.  Push it down firmly into the reciever. that should unlock the bolt.
Grab the charging handle and push bolt fully re-ward.  That should lock it open.
