I would run 45 in/bs up front and 50 on the rear. I know some would say 50 and 55, but I never had to (shooting a .308). May need to re-zero after torquing them back, just ensure you keep the same spec each time if you can.

I went to a range where the RO would ask if he could torque your scres, said they always come loose. I declined. I thought Remingtons spec was 35 in lbs.

I heard at the fun shop (take that for what it's worth). 35 in lb up front and 40 in lb in back. But it was for a wood stock

Cranes specs for the Mk 13 Mod 5 (Rem 700 .300 WM, ATI stock) is 65 lbs of torque to the action screws/stock.

I'm pretty sure I dug this out of Remington manual somewhere. This is from Remingtons website- synthetic & wood stocks should be hand tight which is 30-35 inch pounds. Sendero & police stocks are tightened to 45 inch pounds from the factory.

You can actually tune the gun with different screw torque.
Just find what your gun likes. |
